Impertinent young boy. Let me elaborate, please. I went to this place and asked for a single espresso and a glass of tap water. This boy, took my £2.20 and told me that they always give a glass of water( with an attitude). I told him that some places don't and that is why I asked for it. The boy answered that they had the best coffee and I told him to let me be the 1 to decide. The boy (again with attitude and horrible body language) told me that no I had no right to decide, because it was the best coffee. I looked at him and told him to keep the coffee and the water, turned around and left. Please keep the £2.20 as a tip, since you needed more than me. Having just moved round the corner to this cafe, we were excited to try it. We ordered coffee and croissant and a cake. The ‘almond croissant’ was a misnomer. It was heavy with sugar and dough. Croissants are known for being light and flaky. It was inedible. The short girl who served me was equally stony faced when I went back up to politely declare that I’d need something else less sweet (and inedible). Her stony face didn’t flinch as she charged me again for an unimpressive toasted tea cake which eventually arrived cold. Silly girl. Just a quick smile and conversation about it being too sweet would’ve made it our local, along with the many friends and family that visit....
