Morgans — Restaurant in Eastbourne

Booked here for celebration meal. Post valentines. Started off well. However the Customer/ Guest could be a mystery guest. We ordered starters. Fiancee stated Scallops tasted slightly different. Mains were excellent. However asked for desert menu. I ordered fudge cake. As stated on menu. On receiving it. Noticed covered in dark sauce. I asked waitress politely. If it was Dark chocolate sauce. As nothing stated on menu. As I am allergic to dark chocolate. The waitress did not know. Went away. Then came back ignored us. But continued to serve customers. The waitres returned to say it is dark chocolate. I said I cannot eat it. Instead of straight away saying. would you like something else. She challenged me. Saying it doesn't say milk either. Then i got impression that as had tried it I was stuck with it. I questioned this by saying menus do not state any ingredients information re allergies. Her attitude was rude. I decided not to order anything else. On leaving , I spoke to I guess manager. Who didn't really say much. But sorry. I explained nowadays all menus should state what type of foods are in ingredients or staff should ask. Very poor attitude from staff. Will never return. I recently attended a meeting at this restaurant and I must say, the staff and service were impeccable. They couldn't have done a better job. The menu offered a great selection of competitively priced wines, and overall, the other meals enjoyed by my companions were excellent. However, I unfortunately had a bit of a letdown with my pasta and chicken dish.

Regrettably, the chicken in my dish didn't sit right with me, and I had to discreetly remove it from my mouth with a napkin during a business meeting. The awkward situation aside, I chose not to raise the issue given the setting. Instead, I focused on the pasta portion of the dish, which was very good. It's worth noting that the feedback on the other two meals was positive, so it seems like my experience might have been an isolated incident.

Despite this hiccup, I would consider giving this restaurant another chance. I appreciated the overall ambiance and service, and I believe that perhaps the chicken dish was just having an off day. I'd be willing to return and potentially retry the same dish. Overall, I still see potential in this restaurant and would be willing to give it...

Had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant last week. Had heard good things and decided to give it a try.

This was a visit for a late lunch / early dinner.

Good looking restaurant, very clean and well presented.

Tables set nicely. Menu covers a good range of tastes and is easy to read.

Staff were friendly, attentive, and flexible. We were not in any rush. Not arriving till 3pm we were between the busiest times, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

The sharing starter was of just the right size. Was made up of good quality ingredients that were very well presented.

I hade the Liver for main and my wife had the Lamb Chops. Both were well cooked, well presented and served at a good temperature.

Very enjoyable afternoon. Will be returning in the future.
