Barleycorn — Restaurant in Eastleigh

Shocking food, but it is Greene King after all... Don't expect your burger to look anything like the photo on the menu. Run out of buns so we had "slider buns" in their place, no relish or lettuce inside.

The chilli con carne topping on the build your own burger, I thought they'd forgotten it... But no, it was more a refried bean style paste than chilli con carne. The katsu curry sauce on the katsu burger... Horribly gelatinous.

On asked "how was everything" I said distinctly average and that "it looked nothing like the photo" but that didn't appear to warrant any further questioning.

Food was just a bit... Sad.

Place was packed, lively atmosphere, decent welcome, busy local, good pint of ale, shocking food. Don't eat here (or any Greene King in my opinion) your taste buds will...

Today we took our friend to lunch, having booked a table first. It gets very busy. My wife and her friend had senior fish and chips and mushy peas. I ordered the All day breakfast. Absolutely first class. The fish and chips portions were plenty big enough. My breakfast, two eggs, two sausages, two bacon, two halves of toast, beans and chips. Not forgetting the butter. We also had a tonic, half a bitter, and a coke. Plus I had received a voucher for a free drink. There were 5 to choose from. Have been having lunches here for years. Definitely worth it. Will be back in...

Recommend the kilo of chicken wings and the signature burger ,, Yummy yummy full yummy ,,

P/S serves a good pint Guinness ,,
