I would like to share my experience from last week at Esquires, Esher - it was absolutely atrocious. I ordered a flat white and a smashed avocado on toast, when ordering I asked if it would be served within 10 mins, to which the girl serving, replied "I don't know" - I probably should have just walked out after this... It seemed she didn't even know what an avocado was, let alone smashed avocado on toast.. I waited 10mins, to be served a cold flat white. There was already a queue building, so evidently something was not right, but I had already paid and was patiently sipping my cold coffee.. I went to ask how long the breakfast would take, to which a young man at a coffee machine, replied "a few minutes" Then I heard him giving instructions to the girl about squeezing the green stuff out of the packet and putting bread in the toaster - I should have left. 25mins later, I am served an absolute sham of avocado on toast for which I paid £6.50 and quite frankly, my 6 year old daughter could have made more flavoursome smashed avocado. The bread was cheap (like cardboard) and the avocado was not in the slightest bit flavoured, and certainly not fresh ...and it was dressed with a whole packet (I kid you not on the amount) of rocket.
Esquires - it's shocking that you have the audacity to charge for such poor quality food and service. The staff require proper training and if there is a problem or delay, relay it to the people waiting... It all needs to be reviewed, immediately. We shall not be dining there in the near future. When I compare it to what I had today from Parade + Albany - highly recommend this place - it's sad to see how you are able to get away with such poor quality (exactly the same items and only £1.50 more - the toast was on beautiful thick cut sour dough and the avocado was fresh, bright green, seasoned with lime and other beautiful things, making my breakfast this morning so much...
Read moreI should have gone to Costa! I thought I’d give this place a chance as it’s relatively new to the high street. The service was appalling. I walked in, there was no que, 4 teenagers behind the til, one boy with glasses and a red top looked at me but didn’t acknowledge me at all instead carried on a conversation with a girlwashing up cups and then started texting on his phone. Finally one of the boys actually acknowledged me after about 5 minutes of me waiting for them to finish socialising, I felt like I was intruding on a social club not being served in a cafe. The sandwich was not great, I’ve had better from more well known chains such as Nero and costa. I got my sandwich heated up to go, it was placed in a box on top of stale crisps which is just gross. The staff really need basic customer service training, cctv wouldn’t go a miss either so that management can actually review how the cafe...
Read moreJust wanted to show my disappointment with the company's customer service that I experienced this morning at Ésquire's Esher. I must say that it was the worse customer service. The staff were so unorganised and the particular one who serve me and my friend this morning was awful. Truly awful. She didn't let my friend finish her request and didn't let her finish ordering, didn't listen at all, was more interested in controlling the other members of staff and when it came to my turn to order, she completely ignored as she thought that we were ordering together. She wanted me to serve myself and use my hands to reach for a muffin, not wanting to give me a plate or cutlery until I asked. Also she didn't know the ingredients of one specific product which in my opinion is unacceptable due to allergies. I will not go back to É...
