Prima Fila Italian Restaurant Walton in Thames The best Italian restaurant I have been to in Walton on Thames and for many miles around. I was lucky enough to ne invited there for my birthday just about a month ago, I found a little bit of genuine Italy so close to where I live, how fortunate that was. The restaurant is just amazing terrific ambiance, the owner Vito Gancitano has the stage he directs exchanges pleasantries with his clients all the time making sure they are happy and having fun. So, there we have it this Italian warmth inviting you to enjoy. I found the menu was just the right number of choices not too much so it’s difficult to make up you mind. My colleague and I chose a very delightful Tignanello just went so well with our fabulous lunch Our lunch consisted of Bruschetta crispy and tangy very good so far. My colleague had the lasagne he commented on how good it was and wasn’t it wonderful that we have found such a delightful restaurant so close to both our homes. My starter was the Gamberoni al Limone delicious and cooked to perfection followed the main course of a top of the class Vitello Prima fila with the wine going down a real treat and the remarkable service we were feeling really very happy. I enjoyed the lunch so much I stayed and enjoyed another glass of wine with Vito and his relation such is the way in real Italian restaurant. Infact, I came back that evening with my wife and our two Ukrainian nephews escaping from the war in Ukraine. Our experience was so good again that my wife said we must come back again to this restaurant where the food I so tasty and well served For dinner my nephews had pizza which the totally enjoyed my wife had Spaghetti alle vongole which she fully enjoyed I had one of my all-time favourites Fegato con Pancetta it didn’t disappoint cooked to perfection and therefore delicious, the boys finished with three different type of ice cream, my wife and I had Tiramisu as birthday cake so good we took some home with us utterly divine. I am looking forward to my next original Italian Experience Thank you Vito for the little bit of Sicily Fred W Finn Guinness World Record, World's Most Travelled Man 15 Million Miles 718 Flights...
Read moreMaybe we were unlucky, but the fillet steak was definitely not fillet (way too many nerves), the spinach was awful (chewy and insipid), and the peppercorn sauce was watery and bland, which is quite an achievement for this kind of easy sauce. They had switched our order with the table next to us, who had asked for no potatoes, so maybe that had something to do with it. Took the a while to understand the mistake and bring our potatoes, which were lovely, crunchy on the outside and very creamy on the inside, albeit itseemed more like they had been deep or air fried rather than roasted. The aubergine parmigiana starter was ridiculously small, and there was a piece of the plastic pot in our tiramisù, which was also not great (too much mascarpone, not enough egg, watery coffee used to soak the biscuits for way too long; at least we weren't charged for it). The highlight was the pasta with sausage, which I'd have again, but prices are not low at this place, so I'd order just that if...
Read moreNice cozy restaurant, not really Italian though. The food was ok, I wouldn't say amazing, but not even bad. I've ordered sauté di cozze, which was nice but too much garlic (this stereotypy about italian food and garlic needs to stop), and tagliatelle with gamberoni. Again, the fish tasted nice, but, as an italian, mixing it with mushrooms, spinach and cream I think is a bit of a blasphemy. They were also insipid. My husband ordered arancini and unfortunately they didn't look like or taste like the real ones, there was no sign of rice. He also ordered margherita pizza, which again, was alright, but nothing amazing. Personnel was nice and polite, they greet you in italian, even if they're not, which I thought it was weird. Overall an...
