The Bear Pub — Restaurant in Elmbridge

We've been a few times although not very regularly. We went in last weekend as we happened to be in the town a hubby needed a haircut. I asked for a bottle of Porter, of which there wasn't any but the landlord said he could get some for me. We went in today and sure enough, true to his word, was a bottle of Guinness East India Porter, nicely chilled and on the house. Needless to say, I had a 2nd (well it would have been rude not to!) Hubby had a couple of pints of well kept Doombar. We shared a starter of Whitebait, hubby had sausage, mash, cabbage and onion gravy while I couldn't resist a fishfinger sandwich which came with a few chips and salad garnish . It really was very, very good. I wholeheartedly recommend the Bear - it's a proper pub with a great landlord and landlady and fantastic staff who make you feel very welcome. I recently visited The Bear bar and Barbers and it was an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The selection of drinks was fantastic, and the food was even better—everything from the hearty pub grub to the perfectly seasoned fries was delicious. I also loved the quirky decor, and so rare to find a boozer with a barbers inside it which gave the place a unique charm. I have been going to the Bear for years and I can only compare it to a glass of fine wine..( its got even better over the years) . Their Sunday Roast is the best in the area for price and taste , alongside the free Sunday pool table ...its a family win .That being said , the main thing that draws me to the Bear ( apart from the staff) is the fact its one of the only pubs that plays live music locally , is not a franchise or fancy wine bar.. just a good old fashioned pub .So if you want tasty food served somewhere family friendly or a night of live music ,Karaoke or pool ,the Bear & Barbers is a...
