Lovely food and very attentive and helpful staff. The calzone was made as vegetarian for us, even though this wasn't on the menu and when they arrived they were HUGE! A little girl on another table said they looked like turtles on our plates! Very tasty and followed by creme brulee which was creamy with a lovely crisp, crunchy topping.

Whether eating in (permitted) or getting the food delivered, the whole experience is always unique, yet consistently good, evocative of original Italian meals but with Averna’s personal flair. Just bounced a seafood pizza and seafood risotto with my partner. Top drawer! Get a bottle of Red and add a large prawn or 2:)

The place was not too busy as, you would expect for a Tuesday evening, but there were a few guests in. We were shown to our table by our host and given the menu.

We were given just the right amount of time to decide on our choice. Soon after placing our order some complimentary bread and olive oil was brought out. The host was very attentive, he noticed that my wife wasn't using the olive oil dressing, came over and asked if she would like butter.

The portion sizes were very good and the food was delicious (I had the seafood risotto) and reasonably priced. The wine was also very good and there is a good selection to choose from.

The other staff were also friendly and we felt very welcome and were looked after very well and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian food.

We enjoyed eating here and could find no reason to knock any stars off our rating so we give Restaurant Averna a...

Absolutely my favourite place for dinner. The food always tastes fresh and there are always a good range of specials to chose from as well as the normal menu. Olives, bread and oil are provided as standard. The starters are more like main courses in size. PLEASE try the raviolli in white wine sauce if you get the chance. Have tried the chicken, veal, steak and calzone - all very tasty. Maybe a bit more pricey than other places in the area, but worth a visit especially for a special occassion. House wine is delicious! worst place ever. my partner treat me new year dinner here and I had the worst experience ever . I know it was new year ever but the place was a total chaos. the noise and the loudness of everyone including staff was overwhelming , no place to hear each other the music was at the level of a night club... I am vegetarian vegan and was told there was a vegetarian menu , there was 1,2 options only totally disappointed. low level and poorly refines place to have a meal totally discouraged anyone who expects a refines place to eat to go...
