I usually use the Khao Sarn restaurant in Walton-on-Thames for takeaway Thai food, but ordered from the Thai Courtyard in East Molesey as Khao Sarn was closed this evening.
The food consisted of a spicy beef panang and sticky rice. Or at least that’s what I ordered. There was a layer of oil on top of the beef curry that was literally around 1cm thick. The sticky rice was undercooked to the point that it was crunchy.
I called the restaurant to point out the state of the food, at which point the first member of staff told me, ‘I can assure you that the rice was microwaved correctly’.
After a brief dialogue where I was basically accused of lying about the state of the food, I offered to send a photograph of the curry to show how bad it was.
I duly sent a photograph of how bad the food was, and heard nothing back. I then called the restaurant again, before I was asked to explain why the food was unsatisfactory again to several other members of staff, before finally speaking to a woman who purported to be the manager.

Read moreCame last night with my girlfriends, very welcoming upon arrival, we sat outside in the courtyard with the heater on and it was beautiful. The food was INCREDIBLE! One of the best I’ve had since being in Thailand, in fact, I’d say near enough bang on. Family run, most accommodating waitress. They deliver free over £25 so make sure to go to them direct for your deliveries. Deliveroo and Just Eat take 40-45% of their order earnings. We should want to try and keep small local businesses thriving and going direct with your orders is the best way! Genuinely want this place to be as successful as possible because it’s so hard to come by a authentic Thai. Lots of love! Thank you,...
