Superfish — Restaurant in Elmbridge

Absolutely terrible. 2 hour for fish and chips if rediculous. Rude and inattentive staff. We had been there half an hour before being given some bread and butter, no chance to order drinks or food as the woman disappeared. A long time went past the waitress re appeared and proceeded to take the order of a table that had just arrived. I interrupted them and said we had been here 45 minutes with no drinks and no food even ordered and how could you forget about us. ( I was with my 8 year old son and my 5 month pregnant wife so you can imagine how bad this was too me) no apology and in fact tried to make me out like I was in the wrong. Took our order then instead of taking it as a matter of urgency she then went back to the other table and took their order. If my wife wasn't pregnant I'd have walked out there and then. Disgusting service for which they should be ashamed. We used to love this place but I certainly won't be returning and will also be telling everyone else not to bother...

We had 3 large cod and chips which where quite expensive, and we were a bit disappointed with the amount of wasteful packaging and the lack of lemon. The chips were very poor in my opinion - over cooked or probably re-heated and completely saturated in fat. The speed of serving was painfully slow, I mean properly slow considering we were the only customers in the shop, the 3 cod were ready on the fryer shelf but wrapping each in its own box with a sheet of greaseproof paper liner in each then in some paper then each into a bag. 1 guy just watched his colleague and I wasted nearly 5 minutes watching my 1st fish start to go cold during the process - perhaps it was a trainee but it still left me unimpressed. It was tasty but just not worth the money nor the wait. I'm sure they can do better - in fact they need...

As others have said the portion to cost ratio is ridiculous. £6 for a small cod and chips seems reasonable until you discover that the cod portion is smaller than that of a child's cod portion. I have never been served a portion as small In my entire 39 years. Initially I thought they had made a mistake but no half the size of a birds eye battered cod fillet is what you will get for your £4 when you minus your chips cost. Hand on heart I have had bigger cod bites. If your looking for a decent fish & chips I recommend Friday'z at the Halfway.
