Abbey Cafe — Restaurant in England

Been coming to Abbey cafe for two decades now. Seen it change hands a few times and has always provided Quality food at a good price. Brilliant atmosphere and the owner and local customers will indulge in all the local history of Selby town and its surrounding areas. The Building itself seems very medieval and adds character to its surroundings. Inside is always spotlessly clean and staff are always on hand to take your order, and if you want a buttie to go then you can always order a takeout as well. I visit this little gem on a regular basis. I was in the other day when the staff received their latest rating from Environmental Health and was really pleased for them when they received yet another 5* rating. The staff work really hard to keep the cafe clean, especially as it is a very old building, and the food served is always perfectly cooked. The cafe is popular and more often than not fairly busy but the staff endeavour to serve you as quickly as they can. I have never experienced anything other than a lovely visit in all the time...

Ordered 2 Toasted Teacakes waited 30 mins then reminded the staff when seen another customer being given a full English breakfast who arrived after us. Our order came out very soon after in fact too fast to a have been toasted just now, whit they came bothe were flat cold and hard wes sent them back soon after 2 new Teacakes arrived by this time I had finished my cup of tea the Teacakes were still hard so mh wife didn't eat it we paid and left...
