Abdul's Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

I have ordered from Abdul's Indian Restaurant on a Saturday night... with all the quarantine social distancing regulations, I was expecting it to be a busy delivery night and was not expecting the order to arrive in record time;

I have placed the order at 19:16 and the automated email came shortly, informing me that the order has been processed and it should arrive in aprox. 90min.

I called the delivery number after 90min. and was informed that the driver has not picked up the order yet, but it should be with me in max 15 min. (the staff was very polite and apologetic throughout our whole conversation)

After 135min. I have called again the delivery number and was informed that my order should be arriving in max 5 min; the order did arrive indeed as advised and the driver again was very apologetic and polite;

After almost two hours and a half of wait, our order arrived (almost cold, but I did not expect a hot plate after that wait anyway )

Unfortunately, the taste did not compensate for the wait (maybe a hot plate would have left a different experience?). The food was ok... not excellent-not bad, but ok...

I have been a loyal customer to this place for over 17 years, it's always been my favourite and I have been countless times to dine in with my family and takeaways over the years whilst recommending it to everyone. The last 2 takeaways have been awful. The first one being the curry was like someone had dropped the salt pot in whilst cooking it, I thought this was just a one off so didn't complain and decided to order again tonight. I ordered the same dish again. (Lamb rezala) The lamb is incredibly chewy and tough to the point I have had to eat my curry with a knife and fork to be able to get through it. Not enjoyable whatsoever! I rang the restaurant to let the know the meat is not nice at all. (First time I have ever called to complain in all those years, to be told that next time I order I need to specify that I want the other lamb in it and not the tikka lamb that it came with 🥴 I'm sorry but who on earth wants to enjoy a curry with chewy lamb in it?!! I order the same dish occasionally from the other place called Asia and the lamb is tender and devine. I will never use Abduls again for takeaway or dine in experience. Asia wil get my custom aswel as all my family going forwards. So...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Abdul’s Indian Restaurant in Daventry, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The naan bread was light and fluffy, and the side dishes complemented the main course beautifully. Everything was fresh and served piping hot.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and authentic flavors that truly make Abdul’s a standout in the area. Whether you’re a fan of mild or spicy dishes, there’s something for everyone. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive.
