This used to be a firm favourite, but now under new management. My mum was part of a party last week who booked a table for an 80th birthday party. It was booked 10 weeks before the event. The person bringing the cake called just before to ask if they could drop the cake off at 5pm so it would be a surprise. The restaurant then double booked the table, apparently mistakenly assuming that this new note on the booking meant that the party were now all arriving at 5pm and they now would be able to turn the tables twice. The guests arrived, on time (around 6.15pm), for the party. They sat, ordered, started to eat… then the next group arrived and our party were unceremoniously told they need to leave to make way for the second booking. They had only been sitting for 35-40 mins. The next group of customers started screaming at them to leave, the staff refused to admit their mistake or intervene at all, and the 80th birthday party were effectively thrown out. The booking error was made by the restaurant, the way it was handled was beyond awful. Our 80 year old mums were kicked out onto the street. Read moreI recently visited Agra Restaurant and was thoroughly impressed by their delicious Indian cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of dishes, from flavorful curries to aromatic biryanis, and each dish was prepared with the perfect blend of spices and ingredients.
I highly recommend trying the Tandoori king Prawn, Butter Chicken, Tiger By the Sea, Cheese Chicken, which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth with every bite. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food served. The service was friendly and attentive, ensuring our meal was enjoyable from start to finish.

Read moreTried a takeaway from the very famous Agra and honestly, it wasn’t great.
The Tandoori Mixed Grill was okay. The chicken tikka and tandoori pieces were decent, but the beef was really chewy and the lamb seekh kebab was dry. The whole thing was swimming in oil, which made it a bit much.
The Chicken Tikka Biryani was quite disappointing. The chicken was dry, didn’t taste like tikka at all and the biryani itself felt pretty inauthentic. It even came with a veggie gravy, which I’ve never seen with a proper chicken tikka biryani.
Tried the Creamy Chicken Pathia too, but it didn’t taste like a real pathia.. just felt off and lacked the usual punchy flavour.
They did throw in a couple of complimentary papadoms, which was a nice touch, but overall, the food just didn’t...
