Artisan Cafe & Wine Bar Ltd — Restaurant in England

We booked this venue for my partners 40th. They accommodated us to bring our balloon arch and cake more earlier than our party to the venue which was a massive help! I paid a deposit and this includes a private section of the venue for you and your guests and buffet, there is an amount you need to spend behind the bar to get this back, but when you work out prices people spend it was actually amazing value. Even though there was some members of the public in the other sections they were also really lovely. Artisan Cafe and Wine Bar also allow you to book your own DJ/ Music entertainment or you can book their resident DJ for half the price. All in all a fabulous venue that I wouldn’t hesitate to book again or recommend to my friends and family for them book.

Staff: Really friendly bar staff behind the bar who gave great service and chatted/ laughed with our guests.

Venue: Stylish venue with beautiful decor, in the center of Darwen. It’s ao easy to find and the taxi rank is 2 minutes walk away so me and my partner could really let our hair down

Buffet/Drinks: Really tasty food and lots for everyone… we had more than enough left over. They have a great range of drinks and shots behind the bar, they serve lovely Rose wine too!

Booking: I spoke with the manager over Facebook messenger and this made it so easy to book at my own pace (as life does get hectic) and the manager was responsive and so friendly. Any questions I had were answered promptly and just the customer service itself gave me confidence in the venue.

We came last year for the Halloween afternoon tea and the Christmas one also. The kids loved it!!! So we thought we would book again. The photos they put on Facebook looked amazing again!!! but this year was a bit of a let down unfortunately, it was no where near as good, the milkshake was just warm coloured milk that the kids didn't drink. The soup with noodles were cold, the sweets and chocolate bar were from multipacks from lidl. Quarter of a ham sandwich and quarter of a jam one, a hot dog and then a crushed up Oreo biscuit served in a takeaway box. Last year it was served beautifully on a slate. I ordered the chilli garlic burger and chips but the chips were greasy and the burger was dry and really small. Such a shame as last year was a huge hit. The girl who served us was really lovely hence the 2* we unfortunately won't be returning for the Christmas one as we think it's going to be similar. It's not fake review, last year I booked a table, had it confirmed for 7.30pm drinks and food, when we got there a very rude man shouted have you booked because were not doing food any more. When I said yes please he just shrugged his shoulders and told us we could only have drinks. Why confirm a booking then turn people away.

You confirmed the booking at 7.30pm for food, why do this then if you stopped serving and why be so rude to us when we arrived. I couldn't leave a review earlier, but this is why you should look after your customers, there are many lovely restaurants in darwen who have my full support because they offer fantastic service unfortunately your buisness does not. Businesses that looked after their customers will stand a far better chance of survivng the pandemic and protecting the livelihoods of their employees, if your struggling now maybe its unfortunate that you turned away business when you had the chance.
