The Bank Bar & Kitchen Darwen — Restaurant in England

Let me first say that the food, when it finally arrived, was very good. However, on arrival we were seated upstairs at the very top of a steep flight of stairs which have lips and are a trip hazard as I discovered. The staff apologised but did not offer to replace my drink. After a 15 minute wait to order our meals we then waited 40 minutes before we saw another member of staff, he came to ask us to move as the upper room was booked out in a short while. We were moved to a covered garden room, it was freezing only 1° outside where we then waited a further 40 minutes before our starters arrived. We were not the only party who waited over an hour for our food in the cold that night. I expected a nice evening out with friends and what I got was a long very cold wait. I don't expect to have to eat a meal wrapped in my coat but still shivering unless I've chosen an outdoor venue, which let's be honest , I wouldn't when it's been...

Not great at all went for the Thursday Burger offer, booked a table for 6:45... Got there only 2 of the 6 burgers on the menu were available, got seated in the bar area,where you couldn't even here yourselves think, right at the door on the highest uncomfiest tables and chairs... The food was average buns were burnt, chicken was grey , pigs in blanket, the sausages were still Pink... Also ordered a cocktail strawberry mojito and ended up without ice... Flat pint too Overall meal and drinks costing £35 quid... Better burgers and atmosphere at spoons...

Stopped off for a drink in the evening and the place was bouncing. Not too crowded and good music. We found there was plenty of places to sit as the seating area goes back further than expected and there's a roomy outdoor area all fully seated with cover and heaters. The music was loud at the back though and we couldn't really hear each other but there's a handy knob that lowers the volume which people didn't mind us turning it down a smidge. Staff are really pleasant and even though tabke service now isn't really required, we were well looked...
