Barbecue Xpress — Restaurant in England

Such a shame! Been going to this place for at least 5 years now and always enjoyed my food. There has been times when the food has been cold, very late or the wrong order but has always been sorted or if something minor we don't make contact because other times the service is just great. (Good out weigh the bad) Until today. Instead of calling ordered off just eat, 7.50pm food was going to take an hour... pretty normal! When food was 1 hour 10mins after order I called the guy said the food has just left...no problem! At 9.20pm my food had still not arrived, called again the guy who answered sounded surprised when I explained that I had not received my food and said he would call the driver, with that the food arrived, needless to say it was FREEZING cold. Not surprised considering I was told my food had left "a couple of minutes ago" which was at 9 o'clock when I called, at least 20mins after i was told my food had left!! Calling again for the 3rd time to complain I was expecting my order to be resent out HOT only to be told the food had only left 5mins ago so couldn't be cold... no I really wanted to wait 1. 5 hours for chicken only for it to arrive cold, probably have to wait another hour for replacement HOT food... Are they for real?! I was then told to call back in 5mins as they would need to speak with the manager. When the manager eventually came to the phone he listened to my complaint only to be asked what i wanted him to do...!

Would I use a again NO Would I recommend NO However all the family and friends I have recommend in the past, who have become regular customers will now hear of this terrible...

This used to be one of the go to places in Derby for kebabs and grilled food. It's all a distant memory now.

The service is terrible, takes far too long to prepare food. The guy at the counter is polite and helpful - but maybe he's understaffed?

The food unfortunately is now horrid. I ordered the traditional charcoal chicken (something you can't get anywhere else on Normanton Road), the chicken was well cooked but smelt a little sus (my bowels confirmed it in the morning it was a lot sus). The naan was stodgy and the shawarma was cut in thick chunks and dry.

Was it a bad day? Idk - during the hour or so I was there, 2 other customers complained about thier food.

I won't be going back. This visit was my second chance. A year or so ago I went in and got a mixed grill kebab with seekhs. The seekhs tasted of the chemicals that are on the charcoal when you first light it.

It's obvious that the love and attention to detail that this place used to have...

BAD Takeaway, The staff took my order 3 times and first time I gave my order I ask how long its going to be, he said 5 min for a whole chicken. He took about half an hour. (Which i didn't mind to be honest) but when I told him he missed nan and fries off the order. He then said I never ordered them items. Which I did. Then a another member of staff, apologised and said I did order. I was abit shocked at the way I was spoken to. And the food and quality of staff they have is poor. There hygiene standards are poor. They had 3 tables of left over food which was just sitting there the whole time while i was waiting. The staff looked so stressed and angry. Bad atmosphere. Not good customer service at all. Most of the food went in the bin. First and last...
