Beijing Garden — Restaurant in England

We ordered directly from Beijing Garden on their website, for our delivery to be with us at 19:45. As regular customers, we have never had a problem in the past. At 20:05, when order had not arrived, and after trying to ring 19 times (phone was either off the hook or permanently engaged), we finally got through. We were told the order was still in the kitchen as they had not got any mushrooms for the chicken, but it would be with us within 15 minutes (that it would be delivered at 20:20). After another 30 minutes, and again trying to phone, still permanently engaged, we decided we’d just cancel and cook eggs at home! We still couldn’t get through to cancel. We carried on trying to get through on the Phone, but still permanently engaged. At 20:40 the delivery finally arrived. The driver said that they had been very busy and was late as only had 1 chef. I asked him why I had been told that the delay was due to a lack of mushrooms. He said he was only a driver so couldn’t pass on comments. The food was tepid, so had to reheat it and certainly not up to its usual standard. The sweet and sour sauce was cold and congealed. We tried to eat the food but binned the majority of it. We phoned, again after several attempts , to get through, and raised our complaint. Basically, after lots of shouting in Chinese in the background, we were told that, as we had eaten some of the food we couldn’t have a refund. Although they would give us 50% off our next order. We will not be using Beijing Garden again. We also have several friends who order from there. I think we will all now look for an alternative Chinese who respects their customers and listens to and respects their comments and issues with orders. Update to my review, it would have been nice if you placed a temporarily closed marker on google. As a long time customer of your great restaurant, I was disappointed to see that you haven't. Back to the compliments: Always do Just Eat orders here, always perfect, never once had a single problem and they are kind enough to swap the sweet and sour balls - sauce with anything else and other small adjustments, thank you very much for years of...

Avoid. Waited 90 mins for delivery, on a Monday night??? Order consisted of 2 items which were stone cold by the time the food arrived. Rather than do right by the customer, they clearly only send the driver out when there are several orders to deliver. More than happy to take your payment, not willing to deliver hot food on time.
