Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here on Saturday regarding service. The serving ladies took no notice of who had been waiting and after I had assisted a senior customer with her shopping and pointed out to them a gentleman was in front of me for service, the ladies then served someone literally standing next to me who had only just arrived. When I politely pointed out that I had been waiting in front of her, the customer turned to me and stated mid order “it doesn’t matter” and continued to order. I was a totally taken aback at this and stood there, she then turned to me once more and repeated it again “it doesn’t matter”. I then left the shop in a bit of a shock at being told by an impolite stranger that I didn’t matter. I was in tears at this point and my boyfriend was very cross this had happened and he is the gentlest person I know. It was worsened by the fact that he was also upset. It ruined our stop off from Plymouth in one of our favorite places that we regularly make. The serving ladies should take more care, I’d been obviously and patiently waiting, and courteous to those around me. I have worked in hospitality and retail and saw it as part of my service to notice and serve customers in turn, and certainly not reward the rudeness and arrogance of those who think they don’t have to wait in turn. I often pop into this deli passing through for veggie options when my boyfriend is getting his favorite pasty from the butcher’s. I will reconsider this next time. Totally awful...

The bread from this deli is delicious ! We ordered 25 loaves for a wedding we were self catering ourselves . An assortment of whole grain , white , and spelt . Each loaf was carefully wrapped and packed into protective boxes .everyone complimented us on the lovely bread , some of which is freshly baked on the premises . Great work...

If quiche isn’t something that’s ever appealed that much, you have to try the ones they sell here. Absolutely beautiful light crisp pastry and delicious fillings. Loads of other nice food as well. The bread is delicious. Perfect for a luxury picnic, at not much more than the price of a bag of sludge from McDonald’s. We’re regulars...
