“Delicious Food, But Customer Service Ruined the Experience”
I visited Bhavi’s Kitchen today with friends for dinner, and while the food was mostly great, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service.
Starting with the positives, the non-veg dishes were excellent. The Naga Chicken, Maharaja Mutton, and Chicken Dum Biryani were flavorful and cooked perfectly. The highlight of the evening for me was the Flying Buffalo beer—absolutely superb and a must-try for anyone visiting the restaurant.
That said, there were some letdowns. The naan was not up to the mark; instead of being soft and buttery, it was crispy. The Mango Lassi was another big disappointment—completely lacking in taste and flavor, to the point that it was undrinkable.
While one of the co-owners, a lady who is also the chef, provided warm and passionate service, the male co-owner completely ruined our experience. When we politely raised a complaint about the lassi and requested to remove the service fee, he was shockingly rude. Instead of addressing our concerns, he blamed us and refused to listen, treating us with zero respect. His attitude left a bad impression, especially given the hefty bill (£36 per person on average).
The food at Bhavi’s Kitchen is truly authentic and enjoyable, and I would have left with a great impression if not for the poor customer service. It’s a shame that such behavior overshadowed what could have been an excellent dining experience.

Read moreI visited Bhavi’s Kitchen today for dinner with friends, and overall, the food was a mix of highs and lows. The taste of the dishes was mostly authentic, and I must say, as a first-timer, I genuinely enjoyed the Vegetable Dum Biryani. It was one of the rare times I felt it was a proper veg biryani, full of flavor. My friends, who opted for the non-veg dishes, were quite happy with their choices and particularly enjoyed the Flying Buffalo beer a superb drink that’s definitely worth trying.
However, the experience wasn’t perfect. The naan we ordered was disappointing; instead of being soft and buttery, it was crispy. The Mango Lassi, unfortunately, was even worse it lacked both flavor and taste, making it undrinkable.
When it came to service, my experience was divided. One of the ladies, who I believe is the co-owner and chef, stood out. She showed genuine passion for her work and ensured we were taken care of throughout. Her hospitality and warmth left a very positive impression.
On the other hand, the male co-owner (possibly her husband) completely ruined the experience. When we politely raised our concerns about the lassi and requested the removal of the service fee, his behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. He refused to listen to us, blamed us for the issue, and spoke with a tone that was far from acceptable. It felt like he was only there to collect money, without any care for customer satisfaction this was especially disappointing considering how pricey the meal was (averaging around £36 per person).
In the end, the evening, which started on a good note with great food and drinks, was spoiled by the unnecessary rudeness and lack of decency shown by one person. Bhavi’s Kitchen has great potential and some standout food, but customer experience is equally important, and this incident left...
Read moreAbsolutely the most diabolical curry I’ve attempted to eat in my entirety ( well tried). You have not made any attempt to rectify the appalling mess you have deemed fit for delivery tonight, not to mention human consumption. Just because I am on holiday and won’t be a returning customer - you have subjected me and my family to slop. You had an opportunity to attempt financial reparation and this has not been met! Therefore this establishment has been reported to the environment agency with immediate effect due to the fact you deny responsibility for a hair imbedded in my rogan josh (repulsive chilli con carne) and neglectful attention to the presentation of food overall.
I would advise anyone to give this place a wide berth for takeaways as they are evasive to being held accountable of serving formulaic revolting food! Lamb rogan Josh is not supposed to be the epiphany of defectively chopped vegetables and squelched lamb condensed altogether (not even sure you can call it lamb). Yet they tried to say it was actually my hair and kept bowling on about “woman in the kitchen” undoubtably appalling service.
