Firstly, I did complete the Bison feedback email I received a few days ago so my review on here should not be a surprise to Bison.
I booked a table for 6.30pm on 14th February, as the taxi was early we arrived at 6.15pm, I said to the lady we could nip for a half next door no problem but she said our table was free and we could be seated. As we knew what we were going to order we did in fact order our 2 fillets with sides and sauce by 6.25pm and happily sat with our bottle of red waiting for our much anticipated chunk of protein, the restaurant was by no means full. At this point I must say every member of staff we had contact with were lovely, very friendly and professional.
By 7.10pm we asked a server where our meal was as some tables who had came in after us were busy enjoying their meals, we were aware of the time because our table was only ours until 8pm and we didn't have a starter because we fancied a pud. Literally 30 seconds later out came our fillets, she put them down then went for our sides and my hubby and I looked at each other then at our plates, we both checked the temperature of our steaks and they were tepid at best, they had obviously been sat on the pass for a VERY long time. We told the server who informed the kitchen and we were offered a free drink and asked if we wanted the chef to "flash" the steaks in the pan to warm them, we declined their offer and said we were hungry so we would just make do with what we had. Our chips were lovely and at least hot, the coleslaw was tasty but nothing special so I don't know if it was home made and we only ate 2 of the 3 onion rings as they were stodgy, our steaks were dry and super over seasoned but we put some sauce on and with the 1 piece of raw carrot, 1 piece of broccoli and 2 small tomato's that came on the plate we made the most of our meal.
Suffice to say I doubt very much we would return and after reading some of these other reviews I do see a pattern with people complaining about the temperature of their meals, I'd strongly suggest that problem needs addressing with...
Read moreHad a meal there last night service was slow had a starter, nice. Main come the steak was well cooked and rested I ordered a rib eye as I like the fat in the meat as it keeps it moist and juicy what I had wasn't a rib eye more like a sirloin with the fat cut off but the synue was left on and what felt like a crust of salt the rest of the meals come then my sides the chips were over very salted as another guest agreed with me. The waitress came back to check things was OK I asked for a fork by this time the other were half way through there meal. I ate my meal and yes I should of mentioned it to the waitress but I was hungry and didn't want to cause a scene.
The owners have replied to my post but if they read my post they will see i had to ask for a fork (this was so I could actually start my meal) from this is could of commented on the over salting and the wrong cut of meat but the waitress didn't come back. Our waitress was young and could do with more training. Yes I no we all have to start somewhere. I was in the trade 37 yrs so I do no what it's like and how it should be done. Thank you for your reply but if you read my review, it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realise you need a fork to eat your food this is what I...
Read moreMy friends and I came here on Saturday for one of my friends birthdays and while I can not fault the food at all the managerial service was shocking. A waitress spilt a drink on my friend (whose birthday it was) and we do not blame the waitress what so ever as we know accidents happen but it was the manager who was very disappointing. She remade the drink spilt and commented to my friend “try not to wear it this time” as if it was her fault the drink got spilt then there was no offer of a free meal or even a free drink to compensate for her sat eating her food in a soaking wet dress. She also had to go home to get changed which wasn’t nice as we were going out afterwards so she missed a couple of hours of her own birthday night out. We got the receipt and we had to physically ask if our friend could have some compensation as nobody apart from the poor waitress who was visibly distressed by the accident said sorry. As I said the food was lovely but the fact that the manager didn’t even come over to us and apologise and offer just a free drink was very...
