Our recent stay at The Black Bull Inn was made truly memorable by the exceptional service and warm atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the man at the front desk/behind the bar made us feel incredibly welcome. His friendly and engaging personality made the check-in process a breeze, and he even personally showed us to our room.
While the room was on the smaller side, it was perfectly adequate for our needs. The bar man sincerely apologized for the size, explaining that the other rooms were already occupied and he hadnt realised how big our dogs were. The room was indeed cosy, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable – we had a great night's sleep! We also appreciated the tea-making facilities and TV in the room. The bathroom was a bit of a squeeze, with limited space around the toilet, but this didn't bother us.
The hotel's kitchen was under refurbishment during our stay, but the bar man went above and beyond to ensure we had options for meals. We were welcome to bring in food and eat in our room or at the bar, which was a thoughtful touch.
Breakfast the next morning at the adjoining "Bait Box" was a highlight of our stay. The panini with cranberry and brie, and the bacon, was absolutely delicious and a great way to start the day.
Overall, any minor shortcomings of the room were far outweighed by the exceptional service and friendly atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others, especially those looking for a cosy and welcoming...
