We stayed here last weekend for just one night, we got a great deal and was convenient for the areas we was visiting.

We have never been to this area before so we was happy to have a nice evening here . It was all nice and clean as we walked in , the Christmas decorations all been put up and was cosy and warm. We was greeted by a lovely young lady who was helpful and took our payment. We was able to park our car no problem round the back and was reassured it would be safe.

I was taken up stairs to our room to check all was to the standard of what we had booked. Clean ,fresh and beautiful bedding all made for us Which was perfect after a full day exploring all different places. We was given plenty of towels for the time being there. The shower was clean and very hot, the bathroom ,carpets and room was spotless.

We really loved the radiators being on and kept us warm with it being quite a big room. We had a lovely fire place and nice little tv to watch at night

We enjoyed the kettle and coffee in the morning before leaving , it was a quiet safe area and we slept very well .

Beautiful bar down stairs with drinks and food was perfect and great hospitality. If we in the area again we will surely return lots of pubs ,two mini supermarkets etc to keep you going for...

Went for Sunday lunch here after seeing it advertised on facebook. Looks like its been recently taken over, and they seem to be doing a good job with it. Despite the amount of Wylam beers I've had in my life, I've never been to Wylam before. But ironically, they don't have any Wylam beers on tap either. They do have some nice real ales, but none of the hoppy new brigade from breweries such as Wylam. Pub is cosy and the staff are nice and friendly. Sunday lunch is,what I came for though, and that is how they shall be judged. Quite simply, it was great. Possibly the best Yorkshires I've ever had in my life. I'll have mention the critical points though. One, the roast potatoes were dry and hard. They looked the part, with a lovely crispy coating, but inside there was no fluffy potato. Disappointing. The other minor flaw was the small amount of gravy provided. They probably would've given me more if asked. But you don't want to have to. But everything else about the experience outweighed the hard potato, and has edged the guys back into a five rating. I'll...

A warm welcome and gorgeous food menu! I'll definitely be spending more time in beautiful Wylam now that The Ship has gone through a transformation. My room was spacious and fully equipped to accommodate my needs. Was delighted with the staff and was highly impressed with their attention to my stay. One member of staff even went out of their way to run to the shop for me when I'd forgotten something I needed...now that's dedication. I was greeted in the morning too with a delightful 'Breakfast Bag' that was filled more than adequately with a variety of things to eat while I continued on my journey. Excellent service, beautiful surroundings, delicious food and great value for money....a 15min train ride from the city. Perfect! Well done and good luck to the new team there...you deserve all the...

We were staying nearby and visited the Ship Inn for dinner. You order food and drink at the bar. Depending on what time or day you go, it might be a little loud... for example on our visit, there was a group using the pool table, which is located near the tables we were at. A few options available on the menu, and there were also some kids meal options as well. The bar had everything you would expect, although not many beer options on draught, and one of the ones they did have ran out whilst I was ordering! The food was pretty good, burger was a nice chunky one and my wife had fish and chips (and chunky chips were piled high! Unfortunately, forgot to take a picture of it!) The kids meals also came with a scoop of ice cream at the end.
