Bonzo Lounge — Restaurant in England

Generally the staff are very obliging so I would have given it four stars and it is great that there is an extensive gluten-free menu. However, for the experience I had yesterday evening, I would have given two stars; the reason being, my original meal came quickly but I wasn't able to attract anybody's attention to say that the dessert hadn't come so after about 25 minutes plus of waiting and hoping staff would pass by, I went up to the bar to see where it was, which was inconvenient because I was alone and had shopping bags so either had to drag them with me to the bar or rush back to my seat. Was told the barmaid would tell the kitchen. Still no sign after 10/15 mins. Managed to call a waitress and asked if my sweet was on its way and told her I had by then been waiting a good 40 minutes. She was carrying my dessert but tried to blame me, - totally unacceptable and no apology when I proved her wrong - saying I had given the wrong table number! I asked her which table number she had and it was the right one so she then blamed the barmaid and said "Really sorry" (quite obviously she wasn't, just trying to dismiss it) "but obviously it's here now" as if it just didn't matter but it did matter - it was dark by then, my bus only goes once an hour (luckily I caught a later one - they stop altogether after a certain time) and I have quite a long walk when I get off it. Had I missed it, I would have had to get a bus into town and change buses again, or pay for a taxi. I only generally leave reviews if I have something positive to say but I am absolutely fed up with being overlooked and receiving inferior treatment in eat because I am on my own and because I'm polite, and with the lack of caring in hospitality in general lately. I could see other people who had only just come in were being served much quicker than I was. If the waitress had issued a genuine apology and admitted the mistake, I wouldn't have minded but it still was a long wait and inconenient - I was there much longer than I intended to be and just wanted Yes, it was very busy but that didn't stop other people getting served reasonably quickly and although the dessert was nice, I didn't enjoy it as much because I was a bit put out at the waitress's attitude.

I like the outdoor seating area when the weather is nice -- very nice view.

I have dined at Bonzo Lounge in Keynsham on previous occasions and have always been pleased with the quality of the food and service. However, during my most recent visit, I ordered two salads, one of which was the Chicken, Bacon, and Avocado salad. I also requested an additional piece of chicken, bringing the total cost of my meal to £32.50.

When my salads arrived, one looked visually appealing while the other appeared to be lacking in comparison. The additional chicken I had requested was simply placed on the side of the salad, resulting in a noticeable imbalance in the dish. After sharing my concerns with a member of the staff, the salad was taken back to the kitchen and returned to me with a more substantial appearance.

However, upon tasting the salad, I noticed that it contained an excessive amount of rocket to compensate for the initial error. Despite the overall flavor of the meal being enjoyable, it was evident that there was a lack of attention to detail in this particular instance. I recently visited Bonzo Lounge for breakfast and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were not only friendly but genuinely attentive throughout our visit. Their energy and politeness added a personal touch that made the morning feel extra special.

The breakfast menu offers a great variety of options, catering to all preferences including vegetarian and vegan choices. I ordered the Lounge Breakfast, and it was perfectly cooked—crispy bacon, golden hash browns, soft scrambled eggs, and toast just the way I like it. My friend had the veggie breakfast and couldn’t stop praising how flavorful and fresh everything tasted. The ingredients were clearly high quality, and portions were generous without being overwhelming.
