My partner and I have been regular customers at this Grounded since we moved to Keynsham, and today marked our first extremely disappointing experience.
table was never cleared for us from the previous people using it. We had to eat around a dirty table and other people's leftovers that hadn't been cleared.
the guy who served us didn't know how to work the till and the guy who helped him clearly didn't know how to use it either.
my mum (a pensioner) was over charged by about 15 pounds for a meal we all have at that Grounded quite regularly. (Both my partner and I are autistic, so can badly struggle with there being any change to our routine or food choices) the price of food hadn't changed. We were just overcharged for food we didn't ask for.
-We have always been accommodated before by staff and this time were suddenly told they don't ever make changes to the menu. Which is simply untrue and the first ever time we have been told this. It felt like a fob off.
-This was also all told to us after the food came out and we'd been led to believe had been ordered how we usually have it there.
Extra items had been added to the price that we hadn't asked for without our permission.
-This was all met by a complete lack of care by the male member of staff who served us. We felt he was covering for his lack of competent training on the till and complete lack of care for customer service in general.
-Our table remained dirty throughout the entire time we were there while all the staff just chatted together...
Read moreI have used the Grounded franchise in Fishponds on several occasions and always had a good experience so when in Keynsham recently I chose Grounded over Coffee #1 which was virtually next door. Me and my mum had breakfast - I had Eggs Benedict and mum had poached eggs and bacon on granary toast, two coffees and one OJ. Cost £18-19. Don't mind paying that if its good food. However in this case it was not. My eggs tasted very vinegary, I know that is part of the cooking process but I think they used too much and affected the whole dish. My mums bacon had a definite twang to it, so I asked them if it was normal back bacon or if it was cured or something. I explained that it just didnt taste right and their response was I will speak to the kitchen. I heard nothing thereafter, no feedback, no offer of replacement or part refund. Whether it was something wrong or not, part of the customer service mantra is if your customer shows a sign of dissatisfaction whether justified or not you address it. I will not be returning to this...
Read moreAfter my experience, I would strongly recommend that you don't eat here. My friend booked a table for 6.30pm for a group of 6 and by 7pm we were told to hurry up by quite an aggressive lady and order our food within the next 5 minutes as the chef wanted to go home. To be honest it was a shame he didn't! The food which was served was either burnt to a crisp, dry or under cooked. Clearly, there was no pride taken and didn't care what was being delivered to the table. The only person who worked there who was polite and descent was the barman, who was clearly embarrassed. My tip would be if you can't be bothered to to cook and treat customers with respect then don't bother. The reason I've given it 1 star is for the poor barman who I'm sure would be...
