AVOID REPAIRS! I went there in July to have my silver ring fixed as it did snap and I wanted it resized as it was a bit too big for me. The first time I went back the ring had a black mark from where the repair was but the worse part is one of my diamond looked damaged or it wasn't in the right position anymore (I wear this ring everyday i know how it's suppose to look like). I complained and was told they woul d fix it. I had to call them back 3 weeks later to learn that the ring was ready and when I went back the black mark was only showing at the back but the stone hasn't been touched! I complained again so the lady said he would send it back again to fix it. When I came back (end of Sept) at last the stone was fixed but the ring is now way too big for my finger! So please get your jewellery repairs elsewhere, the ladies in the shop are lovely but the people they use to do this are not professionals. UPDATE: The diamond that got fixed fell off so I came back to have it fixed AGAIN and now 6 months later it fell off again so avoid...
Read morePoor customer service upon faulty repair. I wish I had seen the other negative reviews before I went here.... I had my bracelet fixed here a month ago after one of the stones fell out, the same stone fell out a month later, I took it back to be told 'its hard to tell which stone it was but he thinks there is one newer elsewhere so they want another £44 to repair it' after already having £35 the first time from me. I am 100% sure it was the same stone that fell out as it was on a distinctive place on the bracelet where I connect the clasp to. Smiths did nothing to rectify this. They are incapable of doing repairs themselves in store so AVOID. Having my bracelet returned and taking it to a proper jewellery shop that can...
Read moreI visited Smiths to have some watch batteries replaced last week and was really disappointed in the service I received.
When I returned to pick up the watches the next day I noticed significant scratches on both of them. One of the watches they'd forgotten to change the battery and only did so when I prompted them too - I'm not sure what they did to the watch because it now does not work, however they conveniently offered to fix it for me...for a £75 fee. The battery in another watch failed within 24 hours. Both of these watches were previously in full working order and scratch-free. Added to this the lady behind the counter was unhelpful and unapologetic.
I strongly recommend you avoid Smith's if you value...
