Caruso — Restaurant in England

Erm you upset or rather disappointed my wife, is the main issue for me. I think the front of house were pretty much top notch. Great playlist, comfy seating and warm atmosphere. Also served swiftly and in a friendly welcoming manner. & Decent prices for what should be. No problems with the staff I saw at all, a shame for them because of the lesser seen institutional problems with some old badly cooked/heated food. A strange smell coming from one of the drinks like a cleaning chemical residue in the dishwashing. If one thing didn't make us unwell maybe another would instead. It's either the chefs or their boss mainly in our crosshairs. Whoever makes their decisions or QC. Admittedly walking in, the food on nearby table looked totally fine and was being consumed with vigor. We got a bit surprised by what got set down. Perhaps it was just a really duff one-off but I can see some familiar complaints in the bad reviews. ~Unfortunately for you we got put off, didn't want any replacements, to be Karen & give you a chance to put things belatedly right. Some of these mistakes I really don't think should leave your kitchen. Hope you can sort some of this out...

Excellent food, superb atmosphere. great staff.....Well worth a visit and exceeded expectations... Edit.. Returned one evening with the family. Paid the bill and left a generous tip. However the staff came back to say I was short on the bill (the bill was split and we both checked the cash before handing over). So naturally I handed over another £20. Anyway after a search around I couldn't find the missing cash so I went back to them and explained how I was absolutely certain I handed over the correct money and that they maybe didn't count it correctly(new girl on till) they decided to return £10 to me so they effectively got a £25 tip. Caruso is like eating in an Italian's kitchen dining room with family cooking the food. I took my tween and teenager there for the second time for my husbands and my anniversary dinner, and it was very special. The fillet and king prawns dish is the highlight of the menu (to me) and worth every pound. The parmasan of whatever version you choose is very good. The best place to eat a local classic, enjoyed by young and old. Caruso has an extensive happy hour menu and a very generous two hour slot every day.
