I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this chicken takeaway. After a long day out with my family at Adventure Island, which is an hour away from our home, we were all hungry and decided to stop by this halal place for some chicken and chips at around 10 PM, as our kids requested.

I ordered the chicken tikka burger meal, and unfortunately, just a few hours later, at 2 AM, I started experiencing severe food poisoning symptoms, including diarrhea and vomiting. My husband, who didn’t like the food at all and kept saying so while we were eating, is also concerned about the quality of the food we were served. My biggest worry now is for my children, who thankfully are still asleep, and I can only hope they don’t suffer the same fate.

I would never visit this place again, and I’m leaving this review purely in hopes that others don’t have to go through what I did. Please be cautious and make sure to check reviews before choosing where to eat. I truly wish we had gone somewhere...

Having visited Southend Best Chicken three times now, I can confidently say they've hooked me on their Mini Bucket combo. This satisfying package is sufficient for two people for a meal which includes 6 pieces of chicken, 3 generous portions of regular fries, and a large 1.5L drink, all at a reasonable price.

I have been using this takeaway for a while now. For a while, the chicken was hit and miss, mostly coming very tasty and nice, but occasionally tasteless and awful. With the chips being permanently poor. We have an issue where every single time we order a kebab meal, they do not send the chips, and we repeatedly have to call back in order to receive them. When yesterday, I called up reporting that we were once again missing our chips, I was told that they would be sent out, I never received them. On another occasion, the one time I went to the chicken shop in person, I was met by a worker who was sitting on his phone playing games, rather than serving.
