I never write it before, but I should now go, find all of my reviews and take 1 star, because that's the best hotel in England that I was for a long time. That have amazing price, they are above Weatherspoon (that's a suprise xD) so you can choice your breakfast, and it will be nice quality, and really good price - when you compare to that overpriced, dreadful breakfast in other hotels... Rooms are very good size, and because they are to talk, it's even feeling bigger. Bathroom is so modern nad lovely! Beds give me.amazing sleep and dreams, and that is extremely rare for me! Super quiet, working AC. Again, if you compare it to some other hotels! Wild! Clean spotless rooms in pleasant, not boring, colours. I love the curtains! They so warm and gentle, that even in heavy clouded day you feel like it's sunshine outside! Your tea/coffee spot have also chocolate, biscuit, Bootles of mineral water, and even vegan milk! And it's refilled daily! I never been so spoiled for such a amazing price! Only minus is that Southend-on-sea is not how I remember it (last time I was here when old trains was on pier). I give 5 stars for location cos it have close to everything on foot. Train station, pier, promenade, all the shops and clubs. If whole Southend was so amazing as that hotel is, it will be top UK holiday destination. I wonder if all Weatherspoons hotel have the same amazing quality/experience ratio. Because I will now try to book my stays in them! And if I ever will come back to Southend 100% I will choice that hotel again.
Thank you/dziękuję bardzo! Magda Gessler gorąco poleca!
EDIT:Only minus is walls and doors not keeping notices from inside, so if you like me will share a wall in night 01.06.22 with guest from room 110 [and they friends] who from 2am to 4.30am, have party/fight while drinking and taking drugs, you won’t sleep, and since there is no reception, you can’t do to nothing with chav party. I don’t caunt that as a minus from hotel, because, there are no test like: are you a normal human, or disgusting animal without dignity and honour, who are so childish, that in a age about 25, you still don’t know how to...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but felt I need to do so especially as I choose this pub based on some of the reviews written here, but I had a very negative experience. I'd checked in for one night on a Friday in August and prior to arrival was told there would be maintenance work taking place. To be fair I should have investigated this further with the hotel, but I thought it probably wouldn't be too intrusive. When I arrived there was a builder outside my window on scaffolding looking directly into my room and with a radio blaring. I had specifically asked the hotel for a quiet room as I struggle with a health condition and need to be able to rest properly, or I experience severe flare ups in chronic pain, so this was really important to me. When I came back to the room later on, the builder was gone but the noise from the pub downstairs was incessant. The pub wasn't due to close till 1am and a note in my room said building work was due to begin again at 8.30am. There is no reception at this pub which makes it very hard to find any help or assistance. In the end I actually decided that given the condition of the room and the unbearable noise, that I would head back to London that same evening rather than stay over. I wish the hotel had been clearer about what to expect and at least charged a reduced rate given the disturbance. The room itself was clean but the pub downstairs was utterly rammed throughout my visit and was a very rowdy place. This might work for some people but not for me -...
Read moreVery handily located, just round the corner from Southend Central Station, and about 5 mins walk to the Pier. Have to say this pub is an attractive space which welcomes you in. If you have sampled a number of Wetherspoon hotels, you will know they come in all shapes and varieties, but you can expect a well-furnished, thoughtfully designed room with quality fittings and a well-stocked hospitality tray. The Last Post does not disappoint in this respect. It is a budget hotel but the room “punches above its weight”.|Just don’t bother looking for the hotel reception desk - there isn’t one! Apparently there is a telephone sitting on the end of one of the two bars, and you can use this to page a member of staff. Not knowing about this, we just enquired at the bar and a team member was promptly summoned to admit us to the hotel area, so no problem. |There is no lift, and they are at pains to point this out on the website (it is a listed building so great restrictions on structural alterations). While there are not that many steps involved, they are pretty steep - being of more advanced years, we struggled a bit, but it would not stop us booking again. Just...
