Caveat: The restaurant is owned by the cousin of my girlfriend and we had a private lunch. However, the review below is my truthful opinion and I don't post reviews very often.
We were served food straight off the menu. And the food was excellent- without a doubt, among the best Chinese food I had (and I have had plenty). The lobster in garlic was the best. There were two vegetable dishes that were served. Both were great but we especially liked the gai lan. Another dish I really liked was one of their beef offerings, but I can't remember what its name was. All in all there wasn't a single dish we didn't like, but the lobster and gai lan simply blew us out of the water.
The restaurant itself is quiet quaint and great decoration. The service of course was excellent, as you would expect given the owners were on the table with us! That said though, I am sure the service is good even in regular times.
I would highly recommend this place. And the best review is my dad, who doesn't normally eat much, couldn't stop eating, and who is an established cook himself, argued that this was the best food he had in...
Read moreThe food was ok, but no better than any of the other millions of Chinese restaurants around the country, in fact it was exactly the same, but what gets me is the long miserable faces of the servers. What’s up with them? If I was suspicious I would think that they were victims of modern day slavery. Come on guys, lighten up. What’s happening in your lives to cause you to look so down in the mouth? Not only that, but China Diner is 50% more expensive than anywhere else I’ve eaten, and to rub salt in it they whack a 10% service charge on the bill for good measure! Why don’t they just take your wallet as you walk through the door? We will not be returning and neither will any of our party be recommending this place to friends. There are many better Chineses out there. You just have to...
Read moreI’ve used this restaurant twice for Click & Collect food and the service has been excellent, from the minute they pick up the phone to finishing the actual food, I don’t think I have any complaints.
Now you’re here because you want a review of the food and it’s awesome, it’s served at the perfect temperature, and it’s done just right, not too greasy, and not too overwhelming and it tastes freshly cooked.
Value for money wise, it’s on par with other Chinese food I’ve had locally but since three local ones aren’t operating, this will now become my main ‘go-to’
I’ve never had a dine-in experience but I’m sure I will in the future, I can definitely recommend. Just a quick tip for Click and Collect, go to the website and look at the menu first and select what you want, it really...
