Popped in on a Saturday afternoon. Helen the owner is very chatty. It’s a small business that started two months ago. She and my wife got on fire, talking away so much that she forgot to ask if we wanted drinks, and ended up giving me a bottle of lager free. The chilli and salt squid is always someone we order and it’s our tester of the basics and whether we would go back. We loved it. Tender squid, crispy batter and a good level of mild spice. The chicken noodles (rice vermicelli noodles) was very light, not oily, which shows good cooking technique. The won ton soup noodles and proper made made dumplings. The taste profile is not heavily seasoned, as it should be, because Chinese food has a range of tastes and even a family meal should have a spread of flavours. Eating at home is normally not just one same dish for everyone. Yes, there are “Chinese takeaway/restaurant” food that dates back before the 80’s. I’m interested to see how their other dishes come out.

I actually went in with the intention of dinning in but I changed my mind upon arrival,I said Hi to the attendant and she w as on a call with another member of staff who didn’t respond,I was thrown off by that .Ordered food and got home ,it has so far been the worst Chinese I have ever had ,it was so bland with no flavour considering I opted for something with garlic. To think I went there based off of reviews I got about the place ,I was disappointed 😞

Pretty decent food. I'm from London and been searching for nice Chinese food be at takeaway or restaurants. The staff here is super nice and the delivery came super fast. Food had flavour and everything was tasty. Prices are decent. I ordered duck udon noodles, salt and pepper wings with Chinese leaf stir fry veg. Not too salty either. Highly recommend

Bit dubious about going here and went on others reviews. What a tiny gem. It is tiny, basically a shop sized takeaway with a few tables. The owner and only person out front was able to do several things at once including the table service. We never had to wait. Being a takeaway I thought this might affect it being a restaurant but to be honest I never noticed the footfall. Food was really good to the point a fussy teenager was impressed to the point of enjoying the food. It was also our cheapest dinner out. Decor was OK, not a cozy or romantic place, but for a family looking for different food to eat I...

No egg in the egg fried rice, no chilli in the shredded beef. Prawn balls where lovely but the rest of it was awful. Tasted like cheap orange squash. I also liked the packaging but felt that the lady on the phone was very rude about my issues with the meal. Showed no willing to amend the problem. Was also 10 mins late which I would be happy with if the food was worth waiting for. I’d wait an hour if the food was worth waiting for but was very disappointed after spending a few hours salivating over the thought of a great Chinese. Xing Wang is only round the corner. Thrown out my meal and gone for...
