Popped in on a Saturday afternoon. Helen the owner is very chatty. It’s a small business that started two months ago. She and my wife got on fire, talking away so much that she forgot to ask if we wanted drinks, and ended up giving me a bottle of lager free.
The chilli and salt squid is always someone we order and it’s our tester of the basics and whether we would go back. We loved it. Tender squid, crispy batter and a good level of mild spice.
The chicken noodles (rice vermicelli noodles) was very light, not oily, which shows good cooking technique.
The won ton soup noodles and proper made made dumplings. The taste profile is not heavily seasoned, as it should be, because Chinese food has a range of tastes and even a family meal should have a spread of flavours. Eating at home is normally not just one same dish for everyone.

I also liked the packaging but felt that the lady on the phone was very rude about my issues with the meal. Showed no willing to amend the problem. Was also 10 mins late which I would be happy with if the food was worth waiting for. I’d wait an hour if the food was worth waiting for but was very disappointed after spending a few hours salivating over the thought of a great Chinese. Xing Wang is only round the corner. Thrown out my meal and gone for...
