Chip Basket — Restaurant in England

We had haddock fish and chips yesterday. I have to say this fish and chip shop is a hidden pearl. While the shop is rather no-frills and not as "hip" as some of its competition, the quality of the fish and chips is excellent. Crispy batter and moist fish inside! Lovely chunky chips, maybe could be a bit crispier on the outside while still fluffy inside, but no I am asking for perfection... They ran out of medium-sized haddock, so we got two large pieces for the price of the medium haddock :-) Definitely recommend this...

Every neighbourhood needs a chippy like this. The guys are friendly, good humoured and generous characters who prefer to fry to order, which is great if you don’t mind the short wait; I spend the time memorising fish names from the poster on the wall opposite the counter (an obsession from watching the concluding round of a Celebrity Squares episode when the finalist was unable to name “Nine fish you can find at a fishmongers” and could not) or watching the footy on the TV.

So blessed to live less than one minute away from this fish and chip shop. Reasonably priced and one of the best fish and chip take aways I have come across. They do serve as a small resturant when no restrictions are in place with Covid 19 etc, although not tried sit in as live too close by for that really, I have in time see folk enjoying a dine in...
