Cock Inn — Restaurant in England

Saturday 26th June me and 2 friends walk 45minutes to the pub. We get there just before 11pm. The website says 1am finish time.

We walk to the bar to get served and the girl at the bar working says you aren't having a drink. We've called last call. I said but your website says you're open another 2+ hours. She goes yeah that needs updating. I said well we've walked for 45minutes to come here, can we not purchase 1 each for the inconvenience on your end. She goes no.

I actually told her I appreciate she has rules to follow. Then she responds you best walk another 45 then in a snotty voice.

Disgusting customer service and rude. Us lads won't be going...

It's a lovely pub. Nice country feel to it. Real ale decent quality. I had Landlord dark and ghost ship. Both decent pints. Food, well that was not good at all. I had burger and chips as did my Dad. Came on a plank o f wood and chips in a metal basket. Why not a proper plate? Burger was burnt. My sister ordered halloumi fries. After taking the order and payment, member of staff came over to say they had no halloumi fries. Why not say that at time if ordering. My step mum had steak stew and dumplings. She hardly touched it. Meat bland. Dray (no sauce etc) and dumplings hard. Ok pub to go for drinks, but wouldn't go...

I went here with a group of six in total. First impressions was that it could probably do with a touch of paint to freshen the place up a little however when it came to the food/food choice we was all more than happy. The service was OK, but then it did appear the person serving was also the barmaid, however I have waited longer at other places so it wasn't an issue. The food was great. Everybody was happy with the food and they even went as far to decorate the plates. Portion sizes where big so much so that we couldn't manage dessert.
