Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Fist time in st Austell, 3rd in queue it took 10 mins to serve a women wanting 3 drinks and a couple wanting 2 drinks all take out, 2 staff working. They got the 3 drinks wrong, not what was asked for and had to remake and charged the couple wrongly Never once apologised to either. Then stopped serving people in the queue and went off to do other things without explaining that there would be a small wait, just ignored everyone. We waited for at least another 10 mins with no sign of being served They had only made one further drink and still not spoken to anybody waiting to be served, just moaning to each other that they were too busy ( there was only one table with people sat at ) We gave up and walked out as we had been there over 20 mins and were 3rd in queue. We just wanted a drink not to be ignored by incompetent and rude staff who were completely clueless. We went to Niles bakery just round the corner where we were greeted with a smile and pleasant staff who made our drinks and brought them over for us. Would avoid the Costa and go to Niles if you like great service and a lovely coffee at...

I’m from London and I always get my latte from costa, came to Cornwall with family for a short break and visited costa cause it was conveniently next to Travelodge where we was staying, came in the shop and felt a sense of hostility maybe because of wearing a headscarf, being Asian and also Muslim, standing in the queue, a red haired staff was at the till serving didn’t get hold of the name, (so describing in looks) took one look at me and went to her colleague whispered in her ear, unaware that I’m observing all this, she got her colleague to serve me instead of her after I have been served she came back to the till to serve the remaining customers, I was so desperate for my coffee that I tolerated this discriminated behaviour from the staffs at this costa at st Austell, the staffs need to be re trained in their customer service skills, I’m a paying customer and I shouldn’t be treated differently cause of my race and religion, regardless what’s happening in the world. A regular Costa Coffee, really little different from others up and down the country. Nearly empty on a Monday afternoon too. Used it for a business meeting, which over ran; I wound up drinking enough coffee to keep me up nearly all night! So why the one star rating? Because, 10 days later, I received a £100 automated ANPR fine for overstaying my welcome in their private car park, which I'm very sore about as there was no warning in the cafe and I spent the entire time that I was in their car park, buying and drinking their very expensive coffee! Colleagues have been warned and the cafe is now blacklisted.
