Cafe Tengo — Restaurant in England

Well what can you say. First impressions speak volumes really. We popped in looking to support a local independent trader. No smiling greetings, despite them not being busy. We were looking at the menu to decide what to have. I asked if I could use the toilet 'after you've ordered' came the reply from a rather sullen faced woman. We ordered ....then I was permitted to use the toilet.....the staircase leading to the rest rooms smelt disgusting! Toilet facilities were in need of a repaint and a clean. Came down and waited rather a while for drinks....latte and two bottles of sparking drink ...we were given latte glasses to use 🤔 Then came out food, we ordered three toasties, one of which was served on white bread instead of brown as per order. We had side salad with it but the sweetcorn on it was revolting 🤢 We will certainly not be returning again or...

Had a small breakfast. Egg was hard and the guy even apologised for them when serving.

Rather than simply not serving them and saying they are not my best eggs why not cook fresh ones on the first place? Pointless

Worktops were a little sticky and greasy.

Bang average breakfast if honest best thing was the coffee. Nice hash brown n beans n toast. Bacon was a tad chewy as if not freshly cooked. Sausage was your standard cafe ones.

Lack of care in basic stuff like the egg is disappointing Not the best unfortunately despite quite a nice interior. Staff member was friendly but that Egg thing just got me. Seemed little point asking for a new one as the breakfast would then...

Soon as you walk in it's so peacefull. We love that we could bring our beautiful doggy Jessie. The food is fantastic the staff are great and very friendly. It's a gem of a cafe. Highly recommend coming here. It is very well priced too. The icing on the cake was when my partner went to the toilet she came back and said there was a little basket with sanitary towels and a note saying please help yourself. I totally disagree with woman having to pay for them and Cafe Tengo have done a great thing by putting them out for people who get caught short.If your in the area please make it a place to stop at...
