Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

I visited the store twice this week on Tuesday 3.6.25 and Thursday 5.6.25. On both occasions I was served by the same older lady at the till (older than all the younger staff make the drinks) and she didn't smile or say hello. I made a point of looking at her waiting for her to say hello on the second visit but she just starred at me so I said hello loudly and she grinned. There was no thank you for my order or payment so I then moved along the counter to were the the young girl was making my drink. When my drink was ready she pushed the tray towards me with the drink on whilst talking into her headphones (to other staff or taking an order from the takeaway window) saying nothing to me. So I said "I guess this is mine then?" She said if you ordered a latte it is ! I found her and the older lady so rude, cold and unfriendly. Should not be working front of house for a huge chain like costa. The second vist my drinks were put into takeaway cups when I was sitting in. When I mentioned this the young girl huffed, rolled her eyes and said she could tip them into china cups. I said not to worry because it would ruin the drinks. I had a bakewell slice and it was so dry and tasteless so didn't eat it. I didn't take it back because of the terrible cold customer service I had and didn't want to...

9am ordered; large hot chocolate mint syrup, chicken fajita wrap, chicken and tomato pasta pot and a blueberry muffin. Long wait in the drive thru and when I got to work I realised they had got the pasta wrong AND the drink wrong. The wrong pasta I just put up with coz it was still ok just not what I wanted but the drink was a total waste and was binned as I can’t have coffee and it was some kind of large caramel latte - the contact number listed on the business under Google is also wrong and doesn’t connect anywhere so can’t call to complain. Looked like team disorganisation due to being busy - one person took my order and made food, another was making a large amount of drinks and a third was taking payment and giving the (wrong) food...

Costa never disappoints! Whether I’m popping in for a quick caffeine fix or settling in to get some work done, the atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed. The coffee is consistently excellent—smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. I’m especially a fan of their Flat White and seasonal drinks, which are always creative and delicious.

The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely seem to care about customer service. The stores are clean, cozy, and usually have plenty of seating, even during busier times. I also appreciate their rewards app—it’s a nice bonus to earn points with every purchase.
