Costa Coffee — Restaurant in England

Unfortunately, it seems that when certain staff are not on duty at this branch cleanliness takes a back foot. I visited here on Friday 17th May at about midday and even though a number of tables were free to sit at, they were not clean, staff seem to clear away the crockery but don't wipe the tables over. Also, they have a terrible fly issue here, many flies above the food counter and there was a fly walking over the baked goods. I still cannot understand why Costa do not have their baked goods in displays to combat this problem. Yesterday - 15th October- My wife and I were sat quietly having coffee in the Amersham store when the fire alarm sounded. We were all safely ushered out of the fire door and onto the car park pavement area. Staff member Josh was very attentive and apologetic offering to remake our cold or spoiled drinks. The staff were helpful but overall this Costa is not a great experience. Many of the tables had dirty plates and mess from previous customers which seemed to have been building up for some time. The environment needs to be updated. It feels dingy and cramped. I've used it a couple of times on a Thursday night, whilst waiting for the kids, because there are very few other cafe...
