Well.... Looking forward to our first post covid visit and couldn't be more disappointed. Having been here many time pre covid. A warm welcome as usual. Unfortunately our evening then deteriorated. The skinny bloke with glasses and a beard who was working the pass (possibly a member of management) was tbh nothing more than rude. Oh and for your notice when I ask what BEERS you have offering me lager is just incompetent. And no beer isn't "old fashioned" as you suggested. Also ignoring me when I am trying to get your attention to the empty salt cruet was rude. I note it was filled after I swapped it with the other table but ensuring these are filled is a pre service basic. having spent over a decade as a publican I can say your approach to the hospitality industry is less than hospitable. COSY CLUB.. PLEASE BRING BACK A DECENT MENU... Your current lack luster attempt to please everyone is just awful... We ended up choosing the milk chicken thing (a big chicken nugget with fries) the the chicken burger. Tbh we would have had a better meal at KFC. For some reason vegans ect are well catered for but us carnivores are being relegated to eating elsewhere. To be fair the food was well cooked. A little more choice would have been nice. Usually my bill for a meal out for two would be around £100. Yesterday you managed to take only £41 off of me. So I guess it could be called good value but I would say not. All in all I don't think we will hurry back...
Read moreWhere to start Arrived 7.30 to a half empty bar And two gents behind the counter It took two barmen to serve the attractive young lady in front of us, with the whole performance of making her a Martini cocktail reminiscent of Tom cruise and Bryan brown. While I patiently stood there, card in hand trying to order a pint and a glass of wine, I discovered I have managed to become completely invisible. Neither barman acknowledged me and my friend, just looked through us as though we didn’t exist. So after the cocktail was made and the young lady had departed, the two wannabes then proceeded to clean down the bar, wash out the cocktail making equipment and completely ignore me even more. I’m a 51 year old 6 ft tall guy. Good job, I dress well and would say I’m presentable. So I can only presume that I must have discovered the secret to invisibility or these two behind the bar, who did everything to not even make eye contact with me, just really didn’t like the look of me or want to serve me. I actually run quite a successful business where we are measured on customer service. If the cosy club would like an afternoon of my time for me to coach your staff, please drop me a line.
The two guys behind the bar have a lot to learn.
Told the manager, who to be fair listened and said he’d get someone to serve us as we were walking out.
I am afraid it will be a long time before I put money into that...
Read moreBooked a table to eat, but before we set off, we read the menu and we couldn't find anything edible on it, so we cancelled the reservation and went for drinks instead. When we got there, the place stank of marijuana, we went inside and it was just a rowdy pub with small compartmentalised rooms. Nothing like the Cosy Clubs elsewhere, so we turned around and left. A complete let down. What the hell is gravy mayonnaise? Why serve spinach with cod? Coronation Chicken Burger 16.75 buttermilk chicken, jalapeño & cheddar slaw, curried mayonnaise .. curried mayonnaise(?!?!?!?), slaw and jalapeno on a chicken burger? Ox cheek pasta ragu with red pepper pesto?! Sea bass with ginger sauce? Spring onion rice? It's fine having some weird options on a menu, but all options were just beyond weird. Why not have some normal choices on your menu???!!! It's like that tea advert with the monkey puppet.. pork blowpipe with budgie bon bons and a lime air. In fact, I'd rather eat that than whatever weird concoctions are on the Cosy Club Hereford's menu. We went to the one in York and that was great. The Hereford one though.. really lets the side down. Our trip to Hereford was centred around that dinner reservation, so we were extra disappointed. :-( ...
