Honestly I wouldn't rave about this place at all, it is just "ok", quite pricey for what they are offering but been directly on the seafront you expect them to charge more. My problem is with the portions of certain things......since when has a waffle portion size been dished up as just 2 quarters and NOT the full 4 quarters you would expect and receive from somewhere like "Blytons", what do they do with the other 2 quarters, save them for another customer? (I have never experienced this from anywhere before EVER). Also the milkshakes are very mehhh, bland and watery mainly tasting of milk and not the flavour you ordered for £3, would of been an extra charge for extra toppings ie. Cream and or sprinkles 50p a pop! Why not drizzle some source around the glass inside add some bits of chocolate and cream on top without all the additional costs, make them more tasty and appealing to the eye!! We paid extra for my daughter to have 100s and 1000s on her icecream sundae (I could of counted on 1 hand the amount they sprinkled on there, very stingy considering how little they cost to buy). My other child thought the red cheese they use on the cheesy bacon crepe (of which they clearly gave her a full crepe and not just half unlike the waffle😏) was cheap and plasticky, maybe personal taste but she was expecting it to be stringy. Overall I wouldn't return here albeit the service was good and we actually didn't have to wait very long for what we...
Read moreA really nice cafe, right on the front. It's a small family run business and it feels cosy inside, not all corporate and sterile. We stopped in yesterday as it seemed like the nicest place to eat where we could sit down. We looked at the pier, it was very popular but you can only use the toilets if you use the restaurant and we didn't want a huge meal so we came here instead. The lovely guy on the desk found us a table and cleared it away super fast as people had just left. It has a nice full menu of toasties, breakfast bits, croissant, things on toast and soup. We ordered cheese toasties, toasted ham/cheese croissant and chicken soup. The toasties were nice, no frills, you can have a bit of salad or crisps with it. The croissant was lovely apparently. We also ordered a chocolate milkshakes which was amazing and a slice of cake and a 'build your own' sundae. Both were very good. It was about £65 for all that food and drinks which I thought was reasonable at the seaside. The toilets are small and have a little smell but as their sign says in the loo, you are lucky to have them as the council charges them to provide them etc and I didn't mind as they were clean and they are few and far between in Cleethorpes. Overall, a really nice spot for refreshments and I would recommend it especially if you have little ones as the choice of ice cream...
Read moreJust been into Darracotes with my dog and was very disappointed. It was fairly busy with only one table left in the dog area but I could see a few tables empty through the double doors where dogs aren't allowed. The waitress left us and a couple with no dog waiting in the doorway. She then sat the couple in the last remaining table in the dog area. I asked her why she had done that when she could see we had a dog and there were tables available through the doors for the couple with no dog. She just shrugged her shoulders. I then asked her if she could move the couple as they had not yet settled down at the table and she just said no, it was a bit rude. Very disappointed with the attitude of the staff and from what I could see it was just laziness on her part, seating people at at table that was closest rather than appropriate. It's hard enough to find dog friendly places but when a 'dog friendly' place is very unfriendly I will not be...
