Duran's Cafe — Restaurant in England

We had a take away when it first opened and although the food was good there was little of it and £74 (1 rice dish 1 noodle dish 1 veg dish plus 2 starters) for 3 people you would have thought to have loads left over........................NO.

We decided to give the restaurant a try so i took my daughter and niece on a Thursday evening a few weeks ago. I am only giving 3 stars because the food we ordered was very nice although not very much of it! The prices reflect Gerrards Cross and Beaconsfield fine dining where the decor and ambiance reflect the prices. We ordered Sea Bass it was £16 for 2 very small fillets although tasted good. This establishment used to be a Chinese restaurant many years ago we frequented and sad to see that the Ladies and Gents facilities remain the same no change exactly the same. I would think to charge upscale prices you need to upscale the facilities too. Also felt as a previous review it was very lac lustre the owner with friends on a table and another owner on another table with a lap top. So although cant fault the food and I think a price rethink may open the flood gates for more customers and a refit upstairs.

I will probably go back to Denham for Thai food there reasonably priced and always good...

I went with my friend to Wokkaido because the new Turkish place Mad Turk down the road was packed, wish we didn't go here the food was salty and lukewarm. Dishes are also very expensive for such small portions. We were the only 2 people there. Slow service, it took ages for our food to arrive while the place was dull and empty. No apology or explanation was given, just shrugs of the shoulders, no suggestion of sending us a drink, to appease us, no suggestion of a discount from the bill, we suggested that we would not pay the full bill because of the extreme wait we had, then lukewarm food, and no apology , which is not acceptable! We tried Wokkaido for the first time, BIG MISTAKE as we thought it was under new management but regrettably the owners were still the same who used to own that deserted Mahi restaurant. Nothing has changed from the last time. Poor food, which is overly priced with very small portions, poor interior and poor cleanliness.The atmosphere is only good if dancing on tables is your thing. Together with the loud music and the noisy environment, we did not enjoy the dinner there. The service on the other hand is blotchy and we were left on our own and ignored for long gaps of time with no apologies when we tried to get their attention. Another couple were also visibly upset at being ignored. Food awful. Plates dirty. Toilets disgusting. WORSE...
