Durham Chinese — Restaurant in England

Used to absolutely love this place. Haven’t ordered in a very long time. Really fancied a Chinese so thought I would treat myself as never get takeaways now. Delivery service incredibly fast. Was here within 15 mins and I’m almost 10 mins from the restaurant. The delivery driver was absolutely lovely. But there was some strange sauce/soup type thing all on the inside of the bag. But didn’t seem to be from anything I’d ordered. I was absolutely gob smacked at how much this place has gone downhill. Chow mien was stone cold and had absolutely zero flavour. Spring rolls were hot but were hard almost all the way through into the middle they were that over done. Chicken balls & king prawns swimming in grease with chewy batter as if they were reheated. Spare ribs pretty much all bone and the meat that were on them was rock hard burnt. Rice hot but hard and congealed as if reaheated. Gravy was tasteless and the curry was that thick it all came out the container in one big lump all over the food. Was like jelly. I definitely won’t be back in a hurry. This place used to be so nice. Not anymore....

My first Chinese takeaway experience in Durham and let me tell you, this was the BEST! Literally, the best Chinese I've had in years!! I am severely sensitive to gluten and the kind owner was able to take the time to explain to me which items on the menu contain gluten, which is very minimal, because most of the menu is gluten free! My boyfriend and I enjoyed loads of food for a fair price-- I know what I will be eating tomorrow for lunch! :D Hands down one of the best Chinese I've ever had! The facility is so clean and inviting, the staff are friendly and the food is ready quick! I will certainly be ordering from them again, especially the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken and the beef and green pepper in black...

Very disappointing.

We've used this takeaway quite a few times now and it's mainly been lovely but the last one we had was very disappointing.

We were charged nearly £4 more at our front door than what we were told down the phone.

Opened the bag and there was a bag of fried rice missing. We didn't see the point of ringing up because by the time it would have turned up the main would have been cold. So we were charged more than was said but with less food.

The sauce in one dish was watery with less meat and veg than usual and another was far too salty so they couldn't finish it.

Such a shame, I normally recommend this Chinese to family and friends, not anymore.

I'll recommend they use somewhere else...
