Emon Spice Lounge — Restaurant in England

hidden gem. having a look around the village of Brough we stumbled across this restaurant. We nearly drove away - as these days i often find indian food disappointing and most dishes tasting much the same--how pleased i was with this place- great flavours and generous portions- onion bhajis - 2 per serving - two big things as well- nice and crispy- and great flavour- we should have ordered one onion bhaji starter to share, Chicken tikka dansak- great texture with the right amount of heat and just enough pinapple to balance this spicy sweet dish- chicken karahi, onions and peppers in this dish were really tasty with the right amount of firmness and not over cooked- one pilau rice to share and a garlic naan to share (requested naan well done, and that was exactly how it arrived) - portions were just right with just too much to eat for us- which is as it should be- the bill -including 3 halfs of cola- came to just under 30 quid- i couldnt believe how quiet the place was - the waiter telling me it was quite normal (only 10 other people in besides us , and we had all left by @9.30 on a saturday 18/08/19)but they do a roaring trade with takeaways (people were pulling up for them whilst we were there)-- its a half hour drive for me , but ill be back. The food was excellent , the price was really good... cant believe the place...

This use to be our favourite Indian. But after tonights experience I'm disgusted. We had to wait 2 1/2 hours!! for our food to finally be delivered (we only live 10mins away)! to which when it did finally get here, my main meal was missing! and my rice was stone cold. when i rang to complain, he said that it was never written down and its ok because I didn't get charged for it. (the guy who took the order read the order back to me, so it must have been written down). he had no answer to this. he then said next time I called i could have a free curry and he would keep it in his mind! I somehow think that isn't going to happen as he wouldn't even write my name and address down. absolutely...

Heard from someone how delicious this place was so after a rainy day inside off we went to Brough

Seated in a nice position in the restaurant & friendly staff , not only was food delicious with excellent choice of all your favourites & more (see photos)we had a lovely chap playing live guitar which was just the icing on the cake 🍰 & definitely unexpected ,amazing value & WOW...
