Esquires Coffee — Restaurant in England

Hi! Usual day shopping in dead beat aylesbury! Decided to get a coffee and pastries at esquires coffee shop! No seating inside so sat at 1 of 3 tables available! We chose the cleanest looking table as they were all filthy and covered in crumbs and dirty China ect One of us went in and asked if our table could be cleaned and an enthusiasm lacking youth came out with a damp cloth and gave the table top a very quick wipe( he missed 50% of the surface! One of the party asked him to also clean the table next to ours as a lady had sat down and was brushing the food on the top away herself!! This really pained the youth who was muttering under his breath! On entering the coffee shop we waited some 7/8 minutes to order 4 beverages and a couple of pastries! We then waited whilst the only baristor put the orders through! The coffee was fine ! Not over expensive but really shocking service (due to not enough staff of quality!) Disgusting food and despicable service. They charge ridiculous prices and couldn’t follow basic instructions. The full English breakfast we ordered came cold but we were too hungry to say anything. We noticed that the food has no flavour and asked for the salt. 10 minutes later we were still waiting. I asked for 1 egg and was charged for 2. We asked that the beans come separate for my little sister as she is 5 and won’t eat food when they mix but the plate came with everything on it. I then had to go down for the salt myself and told the staff that the food was not really up to standards. Instead of trying to apologise, he went on to insult me. The other staff apologised but the main (owner?) was absolutely disrespectful. In conclusion, the food was terrible and people eat here out of desperation. Don’t bother. You’re wasting your money. 2 English breakfasts and a child’s breakfast for £35??? And the interior decor makes you want to mill yourself. Don’t...

I would normally rate this coffee shop a 5/5 - for both coffee, food and atmosphere. However, today was a bit of a hit & miss experience. One of the coffee's seemed to not be as nice as it usually is out of the machine. We tried a replacement, however, same thing again. We ended up getting what we thought was a refund. Approximately an hour later, we noticed that they had actually refunded a different customer, and had to go back to resolve it. We received quite a snarky comment of "that's more money we'll lose then" - as if that's our fault they had refunded someone else accidentally.

Considering how much business we have given this coffee chain, and how much we love going in frequently, this was quite disheartening, and truth be told, has somewhat put us off of coming back again....
