I’m traveling for work and was excited to see a Brazilian churrascaria nearby, but I’m a bit disappointed.
I ordered a caipiroska and they served it with yellow lemons, not green limes. It was tasted like a super sweet vodka lemonade. The bartender who made the drink asked if I like it and I said it was ok but not good with yellow lemon. He said they were out of green limes.
I asked if they had the staple, pao de queijo/cheese bread, but instead they make French fries/chips. :/
The salad bar had nice hot and cold items, but some of the meat was so well done it was dry and hard. The linguica and picanha (although it didn’t begin to come until 30minutes after I arrived) was cooked and seasoned perfectly, also the feojeada on the salad bar was very good. The gauchos serving were attentive and working very fast for the tables.
I shared with the supervisor about the dry meat and drink, that they should have told me they didn’t have the ingredients before making it differently (after I paid). She said sorry and followed with excuses about being different in the regions and making a point to acknowledge she’s Brazilian. Seemed to be a deflection because the drink is not made with yellow lemons and meat is not dry and hard, in any region. Maybe they can get away with this in this part of England as their google review is very high.
Dinner and one cocktail was 53pounds and I also learned after I saw the paid receipt that included a 10% service charge. I gave a 15% tip not knowing that, so about 25%. I was also surprise they included the drink on my bill, considering it wasn’t what I ordered and I struggled to...
Read moreI got dragged here in part as a birthday gift, and as the only person a certain someone knows who appreciates good food. I went in nervous, knowing this would be a meat centered establishment and having a certain way of ordering food. But since the one taking me there had been before, it wasn't too bad. I got the fish platter as I'm not really a meat person much. Which was quite nice minus the cod bites being a bit too bland for my liking. And I nicked a bit of meat to nibble on from my other. And it was actually really good. The meats are clearly well cooked and seasoned. But the real reason I want to go back is for the salad bar. Like I said, I'm not a meat person and went in knowing next to nothing about the place. I honestly spent a lot of my time going back to the salad bar to try out and enjoy the stuff from there. The sauces are delicious and the veg and other stuff were all nice. I didn't know what a peppercorn sauce was before I tried it and now it randomly pops up in my mind now and then.
The way the skewer of meat is brought round to each of the tables so it's portioned out is really cool. And makes it easier to try and sample everything of interest while resting between bites. Definitely a more than onne experience for more fun. Only thing about the system is that I feel nervous getting up to go to the bathroom or salad bar as I worry about getting the way of the staff. But that could just be...
Read moreBeen here a few years ago and thought it was amazing but didn't enjoy as much this time. The salad bar seems to have shrunk, no cream cheese peppers (my fave) or sushi as pictured in other reviews. Meats on the salty side and I'm usually quite heavy on the salt myself. Couldn't get hold of anyone for a fries refill and tbh left a bit hungry as didn't fancy the cold sausages they kept repeatedly bringing around near the end. Garlic bread absolutely divine though 10/10 best thing. Pineapple fab. Lamb also very, very good. Filet mignon suspicious, that's usually a very flavourful premium steak and it was very chewy and bland.
Got 2 mocktails which were absolutely awful, sound lovely on the menu but looked nothing like pictures on here and both tasted like basic 1 flavour juice with a ridiculous amount of ice. Truly like 4 sips of liquid and cost £6.50 just why? Not like ordering a proper cocktail and having alcohol servings. Regretted ordering them so much, total waste. Also took about 20 minutes to get a drink after ordering even though it wasn't busy and there were heaps of staff? Could overhear multiple other tables complaining about it aswell.
In the end had a voucher and didn't want to come again so just paid the service charge but despise this...
