I booked a table for 15 of us for a birthday lunch celebration and it was not a great experience what so ever. There were two young ladies serving behind the bar and no one to show us to our table. We found the table ourself which had a āreservedā with my name on it and the time. There were no instructions or confirmation when I booked to state order at the bar, there was a QR code on the table that said āscan, order and pay via codeā After asking at the bar if someone could take our order as there were 15 of us I was told nope itās bar service only or the QR code but youāre better off ordering at the bar! So we ordered our food and paid, as instructed. Two of us had starters which came out very quickly. The main meals however, came out in dribs and drabs. By the time the last meal came out the first recipients of food had finished their meal! The food itself was hot but the portions very small and the quality extremely mediocre. The Scampi was smaller than āpopcorn chickenā and my mother asked if I had ordered her a childs portion (and she doesnāt eat a lot at the best of times). The steak was tough and grisly, the fries were barely fried and the chicken pie was extremely soggy. What was supposed to be a lovely birthday turned out to be very disappointing. We certainly would not recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food here has really gone downhill of late, which is disappointing. The portion sizes are much reduced to what they were and there's little flourish on the side (which Wetherspoons manages for a more often than not cheaper price) in the shape of coleslaw, a few onion rings or a little salad, instead bolted on as pricey extras. I've recently had two meals from here, basic meals: cod and chips, and ham egg and chips, both really sub-par: greasy batter, overly slimy eggs and a rather grey looking piece of ham. I'm not usually one to moan, less so in public, as the food was edible, but I just don't understand how this establishment has lost the passion for its food that it once had, giving customers a good deal with all the trimmings included instead of falling into the "bolt on" method used by all too many money hungry restauranteurs these days. The vibe of the place is fine however and is a great place for a drink, just a little way off adequate with their sub-standard meals. For now, Wetherspoons is a much better deal, and I'd even put up with the drone of billions talking at once to get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHaving arrived to the bar for the first time, i was served promptly.
I had ordered a pint of Guinness, which was great.
I then asked a female staff member to charge my phone, she agreed & Im very greatfull for the level of service I had received.
I then went into the garden.
I immediately took notice of the canopy, it's really cool. I especially like the drainage pipes that allow water to run off & flow into the ground.
As I was peking about like a magpie, I thought, perhaps you guys can put plant pots there to benefit from running water as well as improve the setup as a whole.
I also noticed that there are weeds growing over the drainage holes on top of the canopy, therefore, figure if the weeds are not removed asap, the effort of the system is unfortunately null.
I'm happy to stand on a chair and remove the weeds then chuck a bucket of water over the canopy so as to satisfy functionality.
I'm happy to revisit the bar again anydaysoon.
Thanks for reading this, I hope I can be of use upon my return.
