Having been my go to place for some of the best cakes around for several years, today will be my last having experienced a significant downturn on quality and service over my two most recent visits. I'm not too sure whether there has been a change in ownership but the level of customer service has crashed so much so despite me standing direct in front of two of the four counter staff, I was either not seen or outright ignored til they finished their conversation which clearly wasn't about anything related to their job. Whilst prices have increased, reflecting economic challenges it seems that be baked goods have seen a significant uplift in price whilst the product on offer has markedly reduced in quality, today's strawberry tart was a disgrace, three sour strawberrys, a meagre drizzle of strawberry jelly syrup and a swirl of overly light piped cream, no creme patisserie so really akin to what Sainsburys offer for three quarters of the price and with the benefit of suitably sweetened strawberries. My previous visit saw me sold a revolting quiche which had a very runny filling and meringues which didn't match the previous standard and instead had a consistency of granulated sugar as opposed to caster sugar and was so brittle and unchewy in the middle on picking it up they dessicated when handed to eat. I put both issues as owing to the fact at that point of time avian flu saw hens kept in cages which lead to fewer and inferior quality eggs meaning the products suffered. Today's visit indicates the eggs were not the issue, it's simply a case Weinholts have lost their way. I have a further 7 items from today's visit to sample and am wondering what I'm going to be met with! A point to consider is whether using bare hands to lift a customers purchases as opposed to tongues is the best method especially when the same staff who pick and box the goods also...

The selection of pastries and cakes is extensive, all made on site and beautifully crafted to a very high standard. Grabbing something delicious to eat from this lovely bakery feels like a real treat and one we savour.
The staff are always very patient as we take our time deciding what we would like. The standard of cakes is excellent and well priced. Weâve sampled both sweet and savoury delights and always been left...

Disregard any review slating this place as you will not find a single bad item. Yes - it's a bit more than Greggs, yes - it might take a while to get served with the queues - but mark my words, you will not buy anything short of amazing from this bakery. Particularly the steak pies and vanilla slices.
After multiple Michelin star meals, hundreds of brilliant restaurants all over the world, I have never experienced somewhere so consistently delicious...
