Visited 16/07/2021 This was the first time visiting De Trafford Arms, I had been to a Chef and Brewer before and this place was around the same size, the menu I expected to be the same but it had slightly changed - I assume because of the season. Me and my Mum are both Vegetarians and even though there are a lot of dessert options suitable there was only a couple of main options that we didn't fancy, we normally fall on to the Mushroom Stilton on Sourbread dish but this has now changed to Garlic Mushroom on Crumpet with a Mustard Stick. (See photo) in my opinion this is just a very stranged mixed dish, the Crumpet itself wasn't overly hot and the Mustard Stick just made it look weird.... It was ok to eat but nothing to write home about. The chips were hot, the Caramalised Onion, Tomoto, Feta Tart was freezing - I am assuming Tarts are served this way but it would have been 100 times better if it had been hot or even Luke warm. My Dad had Cod and chips and he said it was very hot and it was a nice portion size. For dessert we had Bakewell Tart and Custard which was BEAUTIFUL!! The best part of the whole visit. My Dad had Millionaire Cheesecake and Ice cream which he also enjoyed. The member of staff was very nice, she read out all of the ice cream options as well and she was very pleasant. The place itself is nice, we felt like it was very clean and there were lots of Hand Sanitiser Stations etc. The toilets were also very clean! Would come back again but I do wish there were more Vegetarian options or better Starters 😄

From the moment I arrived, this stay was a disaster. After being asked what drink I wanted, I was left waiting for over 30 minutes with no follow-up, completely ignored while staff focused entirely on a film crew that arrived later. The front desk was unmanned, and it took me around 20 minutes of wandering the hotel just to find someone to check me in. The room itself was outdated, poorly maintained, and didn’t appear properly cleaned. There were cobwebs in the corners, paint peeling in the bathroom, and dust buildup under the bed, which was also missing one of its wheels — causing it to wobble. The only usable power socket was across the room, and the lighting was so old it flickered for nearly a minute before turning on. Our company has now blacklisted this hotel from future bookings due to the overall poor experience. The only positive note was the food — credit to the chef, who clearly takes pride in their work despite the rest of the operation feeling chaotic and unprofessional. Overall, the hotel felt disorganized, uncaring, and badly managed. A truly disappointing experience — I cannot recommend staying here.

Honestly such lovely staff, Danny, Lucy and Helen stand out for us tonight, great service, friendly, knowledgeable about local area and just generally friendly and welcoming. Front of house and restaurant host, and just generally looks to be managing the flow of things is Ryan who is also very friendly and accommodating, quick to obtain essentials needed like towels and toilet roll, and really this establishment overall need a great big shout out for the whole team, everyone says hello and smiles which is something I really notice being a people person myself! Also need to mention the food has been excellent, we had mixed grill on one evening, 😋 and breakfast twice. Meat products in particular very good quality. And lots of choice at breakfast. Fresh cooking to order. And continental buffet. Hats off the chef! 👏 👏 👏 definitely would return to his place as a pub/restaurant or a place to stay, extremely good value for locality and what it offers. We were told about impending refurb so can't wait to visit and again and see the improvements made!

Whether travelling for business or leisure the De Trafford ticks all the boxes, I spent a lot of time travelling for work from May 2019 5 days a week, so needed somewhere to stay with a friendly welcoming atmosphere, excellent comfortable rooms, great food and more importantly friendly and welcoming staff, the De Trafford provides this in abundance. From the moment I first checked in, I was made to feel at home by the amazing staff led by Gill and Hannah. The hotel is situated in the very affluent area of Alderley Edge which has many excellent restaurants, but I very rarely feel the need to drift away from the excellent and very comprehensive menu at the De Trafford. The pub itself has a warm and friendly atmosphere with plenty of choice of drinks although I have my usual tipple which is always efficiently topped up 😀😀 and as I travel alone there is always a friendly face to strike up a conversation with either the fantastic staff or the friendly customers. During Covid they all worked so hard to create an extremely clean and safe environment. Unfortunately I don’t have the need to commute for work as regularly as I did pre Covid but when I do commute I have no hesitation in booking into the De Trafford where I always get a amazing welcome from whom some have become fantastic friends. The hotel is in a perfect location for business being close to Manchester and the airport and also for leisure as a great place to explore the delights of Cheshire and the Peak District. I would certainly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay. In fact I will be visiting next week and can’t wait to be...

The booking was in error and I arrived the day after. Instead of letting me off I had to pay for another night. I checked with the cleaning staff and I saw the room list….. they were not fully booked the night before. When I asked the manager she said they were fully booked. I saw what I saw. The heater in the room didn’t work and it was freezing. My allocation of coffee in the room was two sachets. I asked for eggs fried on both sides at breakfast ….. surely not a big deal. I received them runny and fried on one side. I sent them back and the cook refused to flip them!!! The rooms were very average. I travel a lot and have many reviews. You will see that I am generally always happy. This has created ill will and I will not be returning. I have stayed at the Alderley Edge Hotel several times. About the same price and a LOT better. Everything about the de trafford seems cheap and scant. The front bar is very nice but accommodation wise most places would be better. They made £120 for nothing… that’s the way the world is. Several times I have missed a booking at other hotels and they moved it. I won’t be using booking.com anymore either. They have screwed up my bookings before. And either two people involved one just blames the other. Anyway I have a YouTube channel and people seem to enjoy my troubles more than my successes…. So they should find this amusing….. especially the eggs. The English most times refuse to do it…. It’s weird!! They will flip...
