A Disastrous Dining Experience

My recent visit to Yara was an absolute disaster from start to finish. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so bad that I feel compelled to warn others.

First, the staff was incredibly rude. From the moment we walked in, the host acted like we were an inconvenience, and our server couldn't be bothered to offer even a hint of hospitality. They were dismissive, unhelpful, and downright unpleasant.

To make matters worse, they brought us the wrong food—not once, but twice. When we pointed out the mistake, instead of an apology, we were met with attitude and excuses about how WE were wrong. After waiting even longer for the correct dishes, what finally arrived was mediocre at best. The food was bland, poorly presented, and definitely not worth the wait.

But the real kicker? Despite all these issues, they still charged us the full bill! No apology, no discount, nothing. We ended up paying for food we didn’t order, or eat, service that was nonexistent, and an overall experience that left a bad taste in our mouths—literally and figuratively.

I strongly advise against dining at Yara. The combination of rude staff, wrong orders, subpar food, and a complete lack of customer service makes this place a disaster. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere that actually cares about...

Ive dined in at Yara's about a year ago. The food was excellent and the service was good too. Today me and the wife thought we would treat ourselves to a takeaway (we still havent dined out since the Coronavirus outbreak as we want to keep elderly family members safe). So I order the takeaway and pick it up. That's a round trip of 45 minutes, so you can imagine how much we were looking forward to it. I ordered the Chicken Sharhat Main Course. The description of which is this:

Slices of chicken breast grilled and served with cooked mushroom, green pepper, onion, garlic and lemon served with chips or rice - £16.50

What we got was 1 soggy pepper sliced into 4 large strips, 2 pieces of chicken breast, with one slice of a button mushroom all in brown water which tasted like a very weak chicken stock. Even the chips... were cold cardboard "french fries". Dissapointed is not the word id use. Im down right furious. I even tried to rescue the chips by heating them in the oven - didnt work. A bloody KFC has more flavour than this...

I have no idea whats happened to this place, but its rating in my eyes...

Firstly this is the first negative reviews I have ever written …Awful experience two members of our party got food poisoning from yara on Wednesday night! My daughters 12th birthday evening meal ruined, had to have day off school next day and one of our party day off work… sick all evening and the next day! Spoke to owners and there response was a discounted mel to compensate us… really….. went to yara this evening to talk face to face as it’s totally unacceptable to have my child so poorly on her birthday…. Owner thought it was acceptable to pull a huge bundle of cash out of his pocket and offer me £15 compensation from our £200 bill Discusting attitude and terrible place to visit… offered me £50 in the end… this was nothing to do with money for us! More that fact that they made my daughter and other member of the party extremely poorly on a birthday celebration They should be ashamed… don’t flash your cash and think because u have your staff around you so that you can treat customers with utter contempt

Awful place never visit again and have reported to...

I used to rate this 5 stars, but in recent months it has gone downhill. Food not as good as it used to be, made only worst by the fact that it is hugely overpriced for what you get. E.g. if you order any of the grills, you get only the meat. They do not include any of the grilled vegetables, pickles, rice or chips that would normally be included with traditional Lebanese/Arabic plates. The takeaway is even worst. See the picture I attached.. ordered 4 grills plus 2 falafel starters and requested extra bread. They sent 2 lonely pitta breads and no vegetables or other accompaniments.

I was having a meal at the Alderley Edge restaurant on Sunday Nov.7th which was my family treat to celebrate my 80th birthday on Tuesday Nov.9th. I have never felt so important, the staff were really attentive , the food was delicious and to top it off Irfan ( I think that was his name) dimmed the lights, played "happy birthday " music and brought me a delicious portion of Honey and Almond cake, enough for the four of us with a candle on it , courtesy of the management. What a lovely gesture! Top Class !!
