Village Cafe — Restaurant in England

Alderley Edge high street is changing with a few new eateries and food offers, however The Village Cafe remains my friends favourite place for a quick breakfast, brunch or lunch.

We’ve visited a few times- a table is always available and in good weather the terrace out front doubles the size of the restaurant.

There is a mix of locals, business, mums and baby groups. The menu is on the large size with all the usual cafe standards served with a Mediterranean atmosphere.

The food arrives quickly, it’s fresh simple and garnished well. The team move at pace are friendly and generally give good service.

The coffee is of a high standard here, good choice of milk alternatives and very fairly priced the only thing is that I don’t understand why in 2025 cafe latte is still served in glass cone shaped cups??? Ok ok it could be one of my ‘pet hates’ but the coffee always suffers, it’s never hot enough plus the glass design doesn’t bode well for the staff to deliver safely at pace. ( only feedback) . We had two coffees each changing the second round.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who made us feel right at home. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, taking the time to check on our table and even sharing a bit about the inspiration behind the dishes.

Now, let’s talk about the food — absolutely delicious! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s a lot of love and care put into every bite. It’s clear the team here takes real pride in what they do.

The service was prompt and professional, and the entire atmosphere was cozy and inviting. You don’t just get a meal here — you get a memorable experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and even better...

We are regular customers here but won’t come again, never have we been treated so badly by the guy whi gave us the bill. Why serve coffee to us when you are closing so soon? Or give us a 5 minute warning that you are closing , but we had not finished our drinks and he came to our table with an angry face , threw the receipt on the table and put the card reader in my face and said we are closed really stern. We paid and as we left my husband had picked up on the attitude and asked if we had done something wrong to him. It was embarrassing.
