I saw the name of this restaurant on a group's posting so we went to check it out as it was claiming to be just just as good or even better than the ones on the fruit market area. Sorry It's really not. This is merely a place where the hotel guests come to have their breakfast and local warehouse workers come to eat and have a couple of pints in the middle of the day. I tried the English Breakfast, the sausage was really bland and the ingredients not that fresh. My advice to the owners would be to increase the quality of their ingredients if they want to compete with the venues in the city center (although looking at their menu prices, they already are). Also the 2 tables that are right on the main door are horrible to sit at, anyone who is entering/exiting the restaurant will bump in to you. I will give a plus to the friendly staff 🙂
Edit: after seeing the rude and unprofessional response of the owner , I downgraded it to one star. It's embarassing to talk to your customers this way,...
Read moreWe went in yesterday for a late breakfast. The staff were very nice and friendly, the place was fairly quiet, probably due to the hour of the day. We really enjoyed our tea, the peppermint tea was particularly good in my opinion. The food was nice too. My only comment on this would be that I would've put a bit of salt onto the avocado underneath the salmon and also added some flavour to the eggs, they were quite bland. But salt and pepper were available at the table so overall I enjoyed my meal. My partner got a breakfast ciabatta and he also very much enjoyed it. It was cooked very well and the bread was perfect. We took some brownies home for later, I am normally not a fan of brownies but these were quite lovely. We will definitely be...
Read moreWe've been trying a lot of different cafes for Sunday breakfast throughout this year. Gingers @ The Embassy was a bit further out of the way for us but it was worth the trip and is definitely up there as one of the best places we've visited this year.
Quick and friendly service from all staff, lovely decor and bustling but not overly crowded atmosphere and you can just tell that everything has been carefully thought through, from the menu and ingredients used, the volume and type of of music, the quality and shape of crockery, the comfort and style of the furniture etc.
Most importantly, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the accompanying coffee and tea were also very tasty. We will definitely be back to sample more from the breakfast menu and I'm sure for the odd lunch, or takeaway item.
Wonderful place,...
