Harleys American Bar & Grill — Restaurant in England

We visited Harley’s Diner yesterday for my little girl’s 8th birthday meal. Party of 4. Absolutely blown away with every aspect of our visit.

Firstly, we were a little bit early for our booking and had expected to sit and have a drink while we waited to be seated, however we were quickly met by the lovely new Manageress who managed to seat us early with absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Next, the menu… FANTASTIC. We eat out at “Pub-Grub” venues semi-regularly and so you typically have an idea of the generic menu you’ll encounter - But Harley’s menu is a step above anything like that. They offer such a wide span of choices that none of us in our party could make up our minds! It all looked so brilliant.

We eventually opted for steaks (Choice of Rump/Siloin/Rib eye), the mixed grill and a child’s Mac ‘n’ cheese option. Every single one of us were blown away with the food quality. My partner said that her Sirloin steak was the best she had tried in the area (and we have tried most places). All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My mixed grill was delicious, the egg and steak (medium rare) were both cooked to absolute perfection. My little girl loved her Mac ‘n’ cheese and struggled to finish it despite enjoying it (She wanted to keep going!).

Next came deserts…. Again, the selection was fantastic and we all struggled to decide which to go for as it all sounded so lovely. We spotted a neighbouring table’s deserts coming out and that influenced the decision in the end. American chocolate fudge cake, Snow on the hills (Profiteroles and cream) and also a strawberry shake were all ordered and thoroughly enjoyed.

Have to give the place a 20/10. Fantastic Customer Service, facilities and food all round.

I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor. Where do I start? We sat down I decided to order the chargrilled chicken bbq hickory served with chips, mushrooms, peas and my Partner ordered the rodeo burger the food came within 10 minutes which I thought was quick! Not only did they get my order wrong once but three times, first it came out as a chicken burger I even showed the waitress what I ordered on the menu and they brought another burger out, which was then returned to the kitchen and the waitress had to take a menu in to show the chef exactly what it was yet again the order came out wrong just a plain chicken no bbq sauce this then went back in and the chicken was just slapped on with bbq sauce not even proper bbq hickory sauce which was what was sold to me on the menu. I decided to raise this with the manager might of even been the owner, all I got was one our waiters apologised to you he didn’t really seem to care and was very unwelcoming by this time my partner already had eaten his meal and I had mine to eat which was cold. WOW just WOW! Visited Harleys Sat night with my parents who live locally. Recommended by a old school pal whilst I happened to be in the Midlands on business. The place was amazing in every sense, warm friendly greeting, with all the information clearly explained. The food is awesome, the choices alone got me salivating & we were all envious of the dishes being served up around us. I had the full rack of ribs & although pre warned about the size I went for it but OMG I/We were all in awe when it arrived. My parents went for the Gammon steak, along with the Mac n Cheeese bites which was amazing. All the dishes were so so tasty, served on nice sized plates where you could enjoy your meal, the table/bar service, staff, were faultless & really polite & very efficient as outlr food arrived in good time & displayed lovely.

My mum even loved how spotlessly clean the tables were being done in between new customers arriving where attention to detail was 5*.

The atmosphere was great, background music really in keeping with the diner theme, & overall our best USA Diner experience, & one which wouldn't look out of place in any US State.

If you are after a fantastic experience, in every sense, all for great value ( 3 X Meals 1 X Dessert 3 X Drinks) then you cannot go wrong by dropping into this place, especially with so much safe secure parking at the rear.

I'm here for a few weeks, & we are certainly going back in this time.
