Hop & Friar — Restaurant in England

Staff were incredibly rude. Me and my friend were looking for a quiet place to sit and play darts and were asked to leave as my friend ‘showed attitude’ (he did nothing wrong). The last thing you want is to be removed from the pub for something that didn’t happen. I was looking forward to enjoying a relaxing evening watching the football once I had finished throwing darts (which would have been 10-15 minutes max) however I was forced to buy a drink that I simply couldn’t afford and made it known to the staff. However they refused use of the dartboard of which was only being used by one customer who was wanting to play a game against me. Therefore I bought a drink that I didn’t need, thanks to my friend. When I started playing darts, a lady came over to my friend and asked if we were together and hastily moved my friends belongings onto the table where my coat was and asked him to move, in which he did. Owner is incredibly rude, my friend and I went in as he wanted to play darts, we bought a drink and he was playing darts and I was sat at a table on my phone, owner comes over and asks rather rudely if the jackets on each table where ours, i said yes and she proceeds to snatch my jacket and throw it on the floor by the table next to me and tells me to move, I get up and put my drink down on the table and she then complains I slammed my glass and told me to cut the attitude or get out(I had said almost nothing), then tells me and my friend to finish our drinks and get out, we had done nothing but sit and play darts, never met such a rude owner (in the future, ask people to nicely move to...

Came down for the weekend. Walked in here and got a brilliant welcome. Staff very friendly. Can recommend the wainwright's hand pull, they obviously clean their lines regularly, very nice pint. Asked if we could play darts as we had brought our own (asked this due to previous negative review). They had tables in front of one of the darts boards,due to the England football game later (the other one was in use) they were sooo obliging,said no problem and very politely moved the tables.
